We have been travelling in Iceland for 3 weeks and have stayed in some outstanding (plus a couple of not quite outstanding) accommodations. The Lake House is by far our favourite. The view from the conservatory and the deck were exceptional. We decided to take a ‘rest day’ here to just enjoy the view, the peace and the hot pot. It was great having access to coffee, herbs and spices left by the owners to use in our meal prep. Access was very easy with the lockbox. The heating was already on for us which was greatly appreciated. Btw I loved the swans in the pond. 😂

This is a wonderful place to explore the area of Akranes. About 20 minutes off the city, settled in a beautiful landscape, the house is very spacious, very comfortable and particularly well equipped. We stayed there with our two kids and the house was more than enough. The outside hot bath is also a wonderful place to relax at the end of a good day. Although we didn't meet them in person the hosts were very friendly and responsive to any question we had.
