The hotel’s location is superb, just a few meters from the lake and surrounded by shops, cafés, restaurants, a supermarket, and a pharmacy. Wanda was a wonderful host! We arrived late and did not have time to shop for food, so she gave our kids some of her cereal bars :) The property is located in a residential area, across the street from a park. It is very calm. You will need to drive (or public transit) to Locarno, but is close to the centre of Ascona and there are groceries a short drive away and easy access to other routes. The apartment was very clean and everything looks new. Our family of five was very comfortable there. We recommend!

This place was very comfortable with beautiful views! It was rainy part of the time but we had plenty of room for the four of us, with a comfortable couch in the living room and a table to play cards. The view from the deck, which also had a table, was amazing. Helpful hosts downstairs. We took the bus from the train station and then figured out which steps (not a huge amount) to walk up and our host saw us and gave us the keys and a tour. Cooked a basic dinner one night in the kitchen. It was nice to have the coffee machine and pods there, as it made excellent coffees. Also a nice selection of teas.

Everything. Our hosts went out of their way to be welcoming, friendly and to cater for our needs as travellers. They took their time to carefully explain everything we needed to know about the accomodation and tips for the town including maps. They always greeted us with warmth. The location was excellent in the old town and close to everything without being too busy.

Sonia and her family are wonderful and caring hosts. They make you feel as if you have come to visit friends. It is very clean and comfortable. 1) Sleeping: You can choose where you want to sleep - on a sofa bed (very comfortable) or on a mezzanine (not really suitable for very tall people, and I think it might be too hot there in summer). 2) Location: Fantastic, very close to the bus stop (1 min) and 5 min to Minusio station and the lake. What more could you want? You also have access to bicycles. To sum up: I think this is a great place to stay, especially if you are travelling alone and appreciate contact with your hosts during your trip. If you like animals, you can pet the cat or watch the rabbits frolicking in the garden.
