Absolutely beautiful. It was a highlight of our trip to spend time there - the air is considerably cooler and cleaner than other parts of south India so it was a welcome reprieve for us. I would say anyone going to Kerala should make it a point to go into the ghat mountains. But getting around was not easy! The roads made us all very ill. Motion sickness pills are a must. And the hotels, and towns, and tea plantations are all spread out so every day you basically will have to get back in the car for torture again. We didn't see as much as we had hoped because we were too ill and we also had not factored in how far apart everything is. But we just loved the mountain air and lush scenery anyways.

Munnar is a very interesting area to visit with a family, lots of activities for families, very easy to move around with Tuk-Tuk or for a better comfort with an open Mahindra jeep. walking around the tea plantation is breathtaking, we could also see the Elephants in a natural environment, mind blowing experience. One needs to visit Munnar during non peak season as the roads become very congested and lot of time is wasted in travel alone. A minimum three days stay is essential to cover Munnar properly.
