The breakfast was great! We came there just to try the breakfast buffet they were good about. The room was decent, considering the price for the room and breakfast included, it was worth the money.
Take a dip in the indoor swimming pool with glass floor, revealing 3,000-year-old Etruscan ruins. Just one of the luxuries you will enjoy at Hotel Brufani Palace.

We enjoyed our 1-night stay at Hotel Europa while visiting Perugia. The staff were all very nice, and they let us park at the hotel early, before check-in, so we could visit the city. The building is historic, so take that into consideration as renovations could be helpful but may be very difficult for the hotel to do (due to bureaucracy). The room was decent, with high ceilings and a great view, but it was a bit drafty, especially with a windy night. The bed was comfy as well, and good water pressure in the shower. The breakfast was nice, with lots of options from breads/pastries, to yogurt, to homemade cakes. We also appreciated that the hotel is dog-friendly, and in a great location--right across from a bus stop and several sets of stairs to various areas in the amazing city of Perugia.

The ancient Etrurian city of Perugia forms a unique and romantic pattern, and is surrounded by green hills. Take the escalators, go up to the Rocca, and admire the panorama of juxtaposed layers of churches and ‘palazzi’ built during thousands of years. Perugia’s Old Town still houses several hotels and restaurants that are centuries old.
The city has a vibrant cultural life and is home to several important institutions, such as the renowned local university, the University for Foreigners, and other institutes. The International Journalism Festival, the Umbria Jazz, and the Eurochocolate Festival are major annual activities. Check the hotel availability in advance if you’re planning to visit Italy and Perugia around those dates.
Don’t miss the remains of the Rocca Paolina fortress and its underground medieval streets. Regarded as one of Italy's best buildings, Palazzo dei Priori encompasses the Collegio del Cambio, Collegio della Mercanzia, and the National Gallery. Trasimeno Lake is 22 km away.
Fontivegge Railway Station is outside the city centre, while San Egidio Airport is 12 km away. Whether you need a 5-star hotel or a historic guest house, check out the deals for Perugia accommodation on Booking.com!

A stunning mediaeval town - walking around the historic centre is a joy. Restaurants are good - even the sandwiches in the bars are well above average. Museums/galleries are perhaps wonderful but this philistine tired of mediaeval religious art which tends to dominate. Palazzo Baldeschi is more varied, has an impressive collection of Italian faience pieces and some quirky 20th century art. All in all, enjoyed our visit and would recommend Perugia for a 2-day visit.

Perugia was a very special city for us, it has a great atmosphere with many beautiful little streets, buildings, and nice people. Simply walking around the city center is a wonderful pastime. Of course, there are many typical Italian cafes and restaurants, but you can also find very good international cuisine (e.g. Japanese, Chinese). Getting around the city with the escalators and the minimetro is very funny. In winter, 2 days are more than enough to see the main sights of the city, but in summer we will definitely come back for the Umbria jazz festival.

Spend some time wandering around the back streets and you can find some beautiful views and interesting architecture. Go to the Terazza Del Mercato for some great views, preferably at sunset. Its an easy place to get around and parking is easy at Saba Viale Pellini where you can pay by card and escalators take you up into the centre

Perugia was a delightful experience.
Perugia was a delightful experience. The historic center has very beautiful churches, public buildings and museums. The Perugia underground was a surprise bonus. We used Perugia as our base for a nearly three week stay visiting six hill towns in Umbria. Accessibility to several closely towns is excellent due to train and bus service avso.

Perugia is a wonderful hill city in Umbria, not too touristy as it is a University town. It's accessible by bus and train - cars have limited access but there are escalators up from the major access points. It has a wide range of neighbourhoods that reflect different aspects of the community and a history that stretches from pre-history/Etruscans/Romans/medieval until today. The main drag from Rocca Paolina down to Fontana Maggiore gives you everything from shops, restaurants, many within beautiful medieaval buildings. We recommend you visit as it is easily walkable in a few days, but for those who don't like hills or have trouble walking, there are the escalators as well as tours/bus trips that will take you around all the important sites. The food is wonderful and the restaurants affordable, coffee and cakes amazing and super helpful, warm people - we had a great time.

We used Perugia as a base for visiting other areas of Umbria. Other cities would have been just as beneficial.
the historic part of the city is very interesting and has beautiful views of the surrounding countryside.
The Tourist information in the library was very helpful.
at first the city was very confusing re: public transportation . We didn't know how to get to the historic centre and the city buses were a few minutes walk from the main station. Once we learned how to use the mini-metro, it was very convenient to get from the historic centre to the train station and back.

The hosts were kind, friendly and very helpful. They prepared a delicious tea every day for me in late afternoon. The hotel building is old is located at the historic town. Perfect location. Walking distance from old city centre. Breakfast was continental with croissant and cakes. The towels were thin and made by cotton. Linen and bedroom were white, neat, and clean. Thank you! We recommend this hotel and we will come back to stay here but in spring and autumn. In summer Perugia is very hot and humid. Thank you!
We had a wonderful experience at the castle, the room was lovely and the food in the restaurant exceptional. We were greeted warmly to the hotel and the service at the restaurant was also the best we’ve had in Italy. Would recommend staying here to experience feeling like you’re staying in an authentic castle.
The rooms are managed by the boutique hotel Locanda della Posta. The rooms are air conditioned with clean private bathrooms.
