Off season Mondsee looks like a huge house for elderly. Almost everything was closed, apart from a few restaurants in the middle of the city. Everything on the beach is closed from january to february.

Amazing location, beautiful nature, gorgeous lake and the mountains offered perfect walking tours. Local people were nice too :) The centre of the city is small and pretty, many pubs with great wine and food. The location as well as the nature were well taken care off and clean. Totally worth visiting: Observation tower Kulmspitz We will for sure come back to explore more.

We were before Christmas, and at this time it is definitely worth going to this city for half a day! The center is small, but very nice, there is a small Christmas market, mostly with food, a very beautiful Basilica, and of course, the lake itself deserves a walk to it. After a two-hour walk, a good lunch at a local cafe or right at the market, and here is the minimum plan completed! In the summer, for sure, the program will be different.SemyonItaly - 10Scored 10

Mondsee is a pretty small town from which it is easy to explore the other lakes and towns in the Salzkammergut region. Highly recommend the Seecafe for its view right on the lake. They have the best church around the area, St Gilgen, St Wolfgang, Bad Ischl, etc. we were there last Sunday of 2019 and there were choir singing and the sound of the huge organ above the main entrance is just so perfect. Very good mass I have ever experienced, so quiet and solemn. The town itself is small, no restaurants and shops open on a Sunday.ElenaGermany

There are rooms with street view and rooms with lake view. Due to the upgrade I had a room with balcony and lake view which makes nice photos and invites for relaxing. For the price it's a really good value. Staff is very friendly. Parking is available on the street and nearby paid parking lots.

You can take the bus or walk to the closest shop or to the lake. Being next to the town makes it quiet and surrounded by nice scenery. Truly relaxing.
