The units are equipped with heating facilities. I appreciated the friendly & very helpful staff, the location, the reasonable price, and the offer to check-in early. The other guests were quiet.

Ryokan Asakusa Shigetsu is situated a 5-minute walk from Asakusa Subway Station, near Nakamise-dori Street and Senso-ji Temple. Asakusa Subway Station provides direct access to Ueno, Shibuya and Ginza areas, and also to the Narita and Haneda international airports. This is a great ryokan to stay that's right in the center of Asakusa tourist area, suprisingly quiet despite the location and just a few minutes walk from the hub-bub of Senso-Ji and its environs. The place has a lovely vibe even though they've been operating for 80 years, you could tell they take great effort in maintaining it well. The staff's extremely lovely and professional, very helpful. The baths on 6th floor look wonderful (though we didn't have the time to enjoy it and just took a peek). Also, you can understand the cultural tidbits of your room and Japanese practices in an easy-to-read pamphlet and the information guide in your room, nice touch! Recommend the non-Western rooms if you can afford it.

Situated 200 metres from Choen-ji Temple, 寅ホテル 御徒町 TORA HOTEL Okachimachi in Tokyo features rooms with air conditioning and free WiFi. It is set 300 metres from Tokaku-ji Temple and offers a lift. The ryokan has family rooms. I liked the staff/ person that I talked to very helpful, also comfortable place with 4 bed, location and aesthetics of the unit especially is a plus if you have kids(girls) they even have toys to play with. Everything you need is in the unit. Location is not bad, and having a stroller and wheelchair it was accessible for us since there’s an elevator in the building, somehow it closes up so quick.

The apartment is located on the ground floor, offers all the comforts and is beautifully decorated. The owner is very kind and helpful, provides food and even gave some gifts to our children. Totally recommended!

Her review is: A perfect blend of traditional furnishings (tatami rooms with futons) and modern amenities (showers, fridge, washer, dryer). Whatever extra needs you have, the proprietor, Tatsuo-san, will make it happen. The man never sleeps and makes you feel 100% taken care of. His wife is seldom there, but her hand is felt throughout the house and in the way the place is run. Just follow the (few, reasonable) house rules, and you will have your own perfect quiet island

For your comfort, you will find bathrobes and slippers. Hanakohro offered a peaceful and comfortable retreat where time and expenses were never a concern. Everything was taken care of, allowing us to fully unwind and enjoy the experience, which included exploring the unique lounges, garden and buildings on the grounds. The food was delicious and the service was outstanding, making us feel at home.
