The shining gem of our entire stay was Shizuka, who explained many things we could do on the island, gave advice, showed us her cute goat, and even surprised us with some very tasty snacks!!! We had a fantastic time staying at Joya. Excellent location up by Kabira beach, easy to walk to Kabira bay as well as to several restaurants in the area. We rented a car due to the infrequent bus schedule, easy parking at Joya. Breakfast was different each day and all delicious! We particularly enjoyed the home-made purple sweet potato jam! We also liked the ability to do laundry, the availability of snorkel gear for rent, and the ability to buy some snacks/water/umbrella on site.

This hotel is a true gem. Its location is impeccable, making it a perfect base for exploring the city. The spacious room was a delightful surprise, beautifully decorated with a unique blend of modern and traditional elements reminiscent of a ryokan. The attention to detail in the overall design is commendable. The bed was incredibly comfortable and the breakfast offered a delicious start to the day. Overall, this hotel provides an exceptional experience and is highly recommended.
We had balconies and open air bath for both of our rooms, the view was magnificent! Great traditional japanese breakfast- generous portion. The onsen was a little busy but was spacious enough. Loved the standing bath- nice view of the see and airport from there! They provided a nice little cot for our baby to sleep in!
The Japanese interior with tatami floors and futons was a pleasant and authentic surprise. I asked if I could have a friend stay in my room and this wasn't a problem at all. It's very centrally located. I didn't mind the coin AC - it prevents overuse, is better for the environment and it wasn't expensive at all.
Large room. Nice onsen tub in room. Tatami mat for sitting. Breakfast spread was nice.
I was looking for a place to relax for a few days, with a private room and not too far from the beach. Both the room (tatami and futons) and common areas were comfortable and cozy. The room was big and bright. No restaurant but there's a konbini nearby and you can use the kitchen. Parking is available. The hosts are kind and helpful. Great value for money.
The apartments are located right next to the forest. The surroundings and views are extraordinary. We liked the traditional rooms with japanese beds (tatami + futons). Overall, the equipment and decorations were narural and cozy. Breakfast was very tasty and rich. All the people were very hospital and warm. The free wi-fi was great as we had couple of virual calls.
Ukishima Inn has compact and comfortable rooms with everything you need for a great stay (I stayed 4 nights). Furnishings are high quality and bedding is a futon rolled out on tatami mats. The smartly set out kitchen means you can buy tasty treats in the nearby market and enjoy them at home. The location is excellent - the neighbourhood is filled with small restaurants, shops and drinking spots, yet the street itself feels like a local neighbourhood. Host Yoshi is friendly, kind and responsive to questions (about transport etc.)
just a step to beach and superb sea view with balcony, sleep on tatami with futon while listening the sound of waves, what a nice experience. Staffs are nice and allow us to self check in and out, 100 out of 100!
Simple, but comfortable Tatami-room with Futon-bedding. Very clean. The host, Yamamoto-san was very welcoming and helpful. She shared a lot of useful information and prepared wonderful breakfasts, both Japanese and Western style. We had a lovely time in this hotel.
