It is only a 2-minute walk from a ferry stop, where guests can board sightseeing cruises. Free WiFi is offered in all areas. Everything was great, we could enjoy some authentic hospitability. Our traditional style room was very nice and surprisingly comfortable. The staff was well trained, professional, and polite. We have been picked up at the bus station and brought to the hotel on arrival, as well on our way back. We could enjoy the public and private onsen as well which as a very nice experience, especially seeing Mt. Fuji from the private onsen as a small family. The kaiseki diner we had after bathing was superb, and it was an experience on it's own. Even we only spent one night there, we could relax and wind down. We opted to take the cable car nearby to see Mt. Fuji, and rented some bikes to cycle around the other day before we departed from the town.

Fujikawaguchiko
Luxurious ryokan Fuji Onsenji Yumedono is located just 500 metres from Lake Kawaguchiko. It features traditional Japanese cuisine served in the dining area, suites with in-room hot springs and a garden. This was an exceptional stay. While the onsen doesn't offer a direct view of mount Fuji, we could clearly see it on our drive over thanks to clear skies. When we entered the premises, the staff was attentive immediately. From taking our luggage to making sure we were set up in our room. The room was SPACIOUS, with a lounge area and bedroom with screens to close off sections. The highlight was having our own outdoor bath to enjoy during cold winter nights. Perhaps the most breathtaking aspect of our stay were the meals. We were blown away by our dinner. It was the best thing we ate during out entire trip in Japan (we were in Tokyo, Osaka, and Kyoto prior). We enjoyed a sumptuous parade of dishes that really showed off the local ingredients. We didn't think it could get better, but breakfast the next day was equally, if not more, delicious. While expensive, we enjoyed a serene getaway with our private outdoor bath and excellent meals. Would love to return.

Yamanakako
Set in Yamanakako in the Yamanashi region, Hanamizuki offers accommodation with free WiFi and free private parking, as well as access to a hot tub. This 2-star ryokan offers a garden. Boasting family rooms, this property also provides guests with a barbecue. I had an amazing stay at this ryokan! Just like others have mentioned, the food was absolutely delicious, and I was really surprised by the generous portions of authentic local dishes—such a wonderful experience! The entire ryokan was spotlessly clean and very quiet, making it a truly relaxing place to stay. When I visited, there weren’t many guests, which made it feel even more peaceful. One of the most memorable experiences was the kindness of the staff. It was snowing heavily that day, and I missed my bus, which meant I had to wait another two hours. Out of nowhere, the ryokan staff messaged me to check on us, and when they heard about our situation, they offered to pick us up! When we finally arrived, being welcomed with a warm, delicious meal was the best feeling ever. The ryokan is actually very close to Hirano Beach, but unfortunately, due to the heavy snow, we didn’t get to visit. That just gives me another reason to come back! If I ever visit Yamanakako again, I will definitely stay here. The hospitality was top-notch, and the staff made us feel so at home. One of the elderly ladies even noticed that I was unsure how to eat a dish and helped feed me—it was such a heartwarming and adorable moment. ❤️

Each accommodation at the 3-star ryokan has mountain views, and guests can enjoy access to a hot spring bath and a public bath. The ryokan offers rooms with air conditioning, free private parking and free WiFi. Hiromi was the most warm & welcoming host, along with her family. She even prepared some phrases As Gaeilge to welcome me! The rooms are typical ryoken style with tatami flooring, shoji doors and a comfortable futon for sleeping. Each room has a view of Mt Fuji if you are lucky to see her like I was. There is an onsen for bathing and they provide a yukata robe to wear. The location is nearby to the hop-on/hop-off bus and right beside lake Kawaguchiko which was the perfect place for photographing Mt Fuji unobstructed. The breakfast spread was amazing traditional Japanese style and they gave me a lift back to the station after check-out. I loved every element of my stay!

The hotel is amazing. We had a hot bath which was perfect after a day of walking. The staff were very professional and friendly. The traditional breakfast and dinner (which was included in our booking) were an amazing experience. They bring you a lot of food and we ended up so full 😄 they have public and private onsen. We tried the private onsen and we recommend people to try it :) the view of Mt. Fuji and the lake on the roof is amazing. The room came with the tatami floor and the room was huge. 100% recommend
Wonderful location with stunning views of Mount Fuji. Lovely onsen, with hot spring looking onto Mt Fiji. Rooms are spacious, we loved the Japanese Riokan style. Very good evening meal, french style cuisine and good breakfast too. This hotel is a little pricier than our normal choice but it was well worth it for the spa, food and views. Helpful welcoming staff would definitely stay there again.
Loved the private onsen attached to our unit. There were sufficient instructions in English stuck on the walls to function the onsen and the heater in the room. It was nice to experience sleeping on the futon. Also loved the yukatas provided in the room. Breakfast was sufficient, with items being refilled constantly.
It is a very special place located near Lake Yamanakako with excellent views of Mt Fuji. The rooms are traditional ryokan with tatami mats and you have your own amenities to make tea or heat up something in the microwave. You are also about a 10 min walk from bus station and downtown - which has excellent places to eat and drink. Also the onsen was great and in the lounge area you could build a fire!
Lovely ryokan with fuji views! The onsen and breakfast were highlights, as well as the experience of staying in a traditional room with tatami mats and the futon bed. The location is a bit out of the main town but its only a short walk. Easy to get to via public transport from Tokyo too. The staff were very responsive and helpful.
The host is lovely as her ryokan. The room is very spacious, with a beautiful view on Fuji San, futons are very good. Onsens are nice. The breakfast’s delicious.
The view is gorgeous! The onsen is very relaxing. I stayed in a Japanese style room, and it was very fun. They provide toiletries as well as yukatas for you to wear at night. Sleeping on a futon can be uncomfortable if you're not used to it, but I had no issues.
The staff could speak a little English and explained everything to me. I really enjoyed the room and onsen, it’s very spacious and has a traditional style, you sleep on a futon and they give you a yukata at arrival. The room doesn’t have a bathroom, just a toilet, so you shower in the onsen downstairs. Good location, within walking distance from some shops and the lake.
The most important selling points - that is, Japanese-style room, breathtaking view of Mt. Fuji and the hot springs - were all in place as described, and that would already be enough for me. Add splendid breakfast - with a wide variety of dishes both Japanese and Western - very helpful staff (I was able to get my thoughts and questions across with most basic Japanese, but staff's knowledge of English was also above average), incredibly comfortable futons and yukatas, and you get a very pleasurable experience.
Location right by the Yagizaki Parc, on the shore of Lake Kawaguchi, but most important with an absolutely stunning view on the Mount Fuji. Hotel is designed like a Ryokan: rooms with Tatami mats, comfortable futons as beds, shared bathrooms with small Onsen, optional breakfast (changes by day between Japanese and western style).
