Japanese-style rooms feature a tatami (woven mat) floor and shoji sliding paper screens. Some rooms offer tranquil views of the Seto Inland Sea. From the moment we arrived until the very last minute, our stay at Miyajima Seaside was truly unforgettable. ​The hotel itself is a characteristic architecture, beautifully maintained, located in an enchanting location. ​The impeccable service provided by the entire staff, their kindness and courtesy were remarkable. They demonstrated extreme availability and sensitivity to our needs, ensuring every aspect of our visit was handled with grace and efficiency. ​It is rare to find a place where the setting, the structure, and the service align so perfectly. We wholeheartedly recommend and we look forward to return soon.

Besides amazing nature views, comfortable rooms come with a flat-screen TV, a mini-fridge and an en suite bathroom. Yukata robes and green tea are provided. Guests sleep in Japanese futon bedding on the tatami (woven mat) floor. The room is very clean, the staff is extremely helpful. I left my JR ticket in the room and the staff is very accommodative. A highly recommended place to stay during vacation.

Combining modern design with a homely decor, Kikunoya Hotel offers both Western and Japanese-style rooms. Entertainment options include cable channels and a DVD player. Fantastic food, lovely facilities, and super close to the hiking trail up to Mount Misen.

Oyado Tsukiusagi is set in Miyajima, 600 metres from Five Storey Pagoda, less than 1 km from Itsukushima Shrine, as well as a 15-minute walk from Daisho-in Temple. It is located 2.4 km from Tsutsumigaura Beach and provides luggage storage space. Museum of History and Folklore is 1.1 km from the ryokan and Shiraito Falls is 1.5 km away. The hotel was just minutes from the port. The host was extremely helpful. Good coffee and tea available and a small area with homemade craft items for sale. The room was spacious including a balcony-like alcove looking toward the sea. The name - moon rabbit - was very fitting.

The spacious ryokan is equipped with 1 bedroom, a fully equipped kitchenette with a microwave and a toaster, and 1 bathroom with a bidet, slippers and a washing machine. The ryokan offers bed linen, towels and laundry service. The accommodation was incredibly spacious, with multiple rooms that perfectly adhere to local traditions. Everything was meticulously maintained, and the beautiful internal garden added to the serene atmosphere. The owner was very kind, providing tea, breakfast essentials for the next morning, and a map with nearby restaurant recommendations.

Traditional multi-course meals are served for dinner and a Japanese set menu for breakfast. Japanese-style hotel Mizuhasou specialises in fresh seafood and exquisitely prepared local seasonal dishes. Meals are served at the dining room. Everything was fantastic - the rooms came with Yukatas, pajamas, vests, tea, water, a towel bag and one face wash set. The breakfast in the morning was unbelievable - that alone made the price well worth it, but add in the baths and lovely rooms & decor - just an unbelievable stay.

The air-conditioned rooms feature tatami (woven-straw) floors and Japanese futon bedding. Rooms in the Annex include a private bathroom with a bath and toilet, while rooms in the historical Main Building and Cottage Annex have shared bathrooms and toilets. We stayed in the older part of the ryokan and it was spectacular. The rooms have beautiful views and the onsen is heavenly. Staff were friendly and helpful, and our meals were delicious and perfectly presented. We had a very romantic stay and enjoyed being on the island at night. Do yourself a favour and wear the yukata - it's the most comfortable clothing I've ever worn. We would love to come back!

Featuring 2-star accommodation, Yamaichi Bekkan is set in Miyajima, 2.3 km from Tsutsumigaura Beach and 700 metres from Five Storey Pagoda. There is an on-site restaurant, plus free private parking and free WiFi are available. The ryokan features family rooms. Hosts were very accommodating and very pleasant

ITSUKUSHIMA IROHA is located in Miyajima’s Omotesando Avenue, a 5-minute walk from Itsukushima Shinto Shrine and Miyajima Pier. The hotel offers a restaurant and Japanese-style rooms with free wired internet access. Our room was incredible. It was one of our favorite rooms we stayed in during our two weeks travelling across Japan. It had so much character and beauty, from the tatami matt flooring, paper screen doors, beautiful wooden flooring in the bathroom, and bamboo weaving on the ceiling banisters. In our room, we had a fine view of the bustling streets of Miyajima. It was a great view for people watching as tourists and locals visited stores and restaurants. The dinner was great, made with fresh ingredients. It was no doubt one of the best dinners we had in Japan. It consisted of multiple courses, and you were able to choose preferences for each course. This was a nice surprise, as we had stayed in another ryokan in Hakone a few days prior that did not offer a selection for the courses. The sashimi was super fresh, and the pork tonkotsu was terrific.
