I absolutely loved the kotatsu! The food was quite an experience, and everyone was absolutely lovely. We got amazing massage as well(for extra price).

A 24-hour front desk offers free luggage storage and concierge service. The ryokan has an on-site restaurant and shop. Everything! The onsan facilities were the best! It was better than any other hotel we have been in. The view is AMAZING, the clothes that are given are beautiful and comfortable ,the food was great, the staff were so nice and helping, the location is perfect (just note that is far from any store or restaurant) but close to the pirate ship and to the cable car.

We stayed in one of the rooms with the private hot spring and it was so relaxing! Also great to try the other ones too for a full experience.

Opened in April 2017, Hakone Kowakien Tenyu offers Japanese-style rooms with tatami flooring, an open-air bath or ceramic open-air hot springs bath made with Shigaraki pottery. The property boasts views of Tonomine, Myojogatake and Mount Asama. Free WiFi is available throughout the property. We had an incredible stay. This hotel is beautiful, clean, and there are plenty of amenities and hotel events to take part in, for example we attended a matcha tea ceremony. The dinner and breakfast buffet were out of this world, some of the best food we had in Japan and the hotel also upgraded our room after finding out we were on our honeymoon. Truly an amazing stay!

All rooms have a private toilet and washbasin, while bathroom facilities are shared. Green tea sets with snacks are provided. Booked the additional dinner. Overall good quality for a good price.

The public and private onsens were beautiful! Great spot for exploring Hakone and the surrounding region.
