Comfortable Accommodations: Onsen Guest House Tsutaya in Hakone offers comfortable rooms with private bathrooms, air conditioning, and mountain views. Only some rooms include a balcony, tatami floors, and free toiletries. I really liked staying here. I stayed in a bunk, which is completely enclosed, so it's more like a capsule. The onsen are fantastic, soooo relaxing at the end of the day. I have a lot of tattoos and since it was a private onsen just for guests, it wasn't an issue at all. The staff were super helpful and the location was pretty convenient. I would definitely stay here again.

Breakfast was a biiiig surprise, too good to be true surprise. Hot spring inside. Everything is clean and comfortable. You can leave your luggage before checkin and after checkout. And they take good care of the luggages.

At the ryokan, all rooms include a flat-screen TV, fridge and wardrobe. Certain rooms feature in-room hot spring bath, while some rooms offer a kitchen with a microwave. Me & my husband stayed for one night in the twin room with private hot spring bath. This huge room was very beautiful and cozy, clean & well equipped with different amenities (tea, kettle, mini fridge, yukatas, large tv with a Super Nintendo etc.). Just as promised in the listing. It was so lovely to enjoy the private onsen in our room, nobody to disturb us and no rush. The wooden tub fits two people well, even when sitting side by side. The window above the tub can be opened, the view is to a parking lot/other hotel. We had access to the hotel’s three other private onsen baths aswell and could use them whenever they were free, but we liked to stick to the one in our room. The location is excellent, there are some convenience stores nearby & you can walk from the bus station in about 10 minutes to the hotel. There are also some restaurants nearby. The hotel staff were very kind, welcoming and helpful. We really enjoyed our stay in Eidaya and would definitely love to come back sometime! It was such a wonderful little escape from bustling Tokyo.

Opened in April 2017, Hakone Kowakien Tenyu offers Japanese-style rooms with tatami flooring, an open-air bath or ceramic open-air hot springs bath made with Shigaraki pottery. The property boasts views of Tonomine, Myojogatake and Mount Asama. Free WiFi is available throughout the property. Onsens are beautiful, amazing facilities with all amenities. Rooms are spacious and beds are very comfortable. The view is great. A very pleasant stay, would recommend this hotel to everyone. Breakfast was the best buffet we had in our whole trip. French toast are the best we’ve ever had! Bus stop to go around the area is right at the entrance to the hotel.

All rooms have a private toilet and washbasin, while bathroom facilities are shared. Green tea sets with snacks are provided. Amazing experience. If you are looking for a Ryokan experience look no further, I can't recommend it enough. Also private onsen and dinner is a must!!

I really loved staying here! The place was very clean, great location and the interior was so nice. Staff was so friendly and helpful, even they were helpful when I asked for spoon & fork in the middle of the night. Will gladly stay here again!

The en suite bathroom comes with toiletries and a bathtub. We really enjoyed staying at this hotel. It's close to the railway station and a very nice pizzeria. The staff was very friendly and we appreciated all the information given at reception. When we got to our room, we were greeted by one of the staff who showed us around the room and how to put on the yukatas. The room was superb! We could hear and see the Haya River as we bathed in our private outdoor tub. The water was soft and warm and it was the most relaxing moment I've ever had.

Main Dining Room "The Fujiya" serves French cuisine in an elegant space. Restaurant Cascade offers Western dishes, while Kikka-so serves traditional Japanese kaiseki dinners. A bar, lounge and bakery are available. Our stay at Fujiya was exceptional. The hotel has a grand, old world charm to it in a Japanese style. There were amazing details to see in the building itself and the grounds. Service was amazing by the staff who all spoke good English. Food was wonderful and served in a very classy full service style with silverware. The gardens and koi pond were beautiful in the autumn. The onsen spa also was great after a long day's sightseeing. It was a truly memorable experience to stay here and a highlight of our trip.
