Situated in Jozankei, 27 km from Sapporo Station, Jozankei Onsen Yurakusoan features accommodation with a spa and wellness centre, free private parking, an open-air bath and a shared lounge. Each accommodation at the 4-star ryokan has mountain views, and guests can enjoy access to a sauna and a hot spring bath. The accommodation provides a 24-hour front desk, a lift and luggage storage for guests. The room was clean, spacious, and tastefully decorated. The staff were friendly, helpful, and could communicate in basic English. There were accessible and detailed instructions for the public, private, and in-room Onsen. The 4 private outdoor Onsen (first come first serve) were lovely and peaceful. The kaiseki dinner and breakfast were delicious and filling. There are complimentary frozen snacks in the lounge area. Free shuttle bus service available upon request with the ryokan. We were fortunate to be added to the list last minute (the day before departure) from Jozankei to Sapporo, but would recommend contacting the Ryokan in advance to reserve. The public buses between Sapporo and Jozankei (e.g. 8J and 7J) can get quite crowded, which can make traveling with luggage challenging.

With an open-air bath, the 5-star ryokan has air-conditioned rooms with free WiFi, each with a private bathroom. There is a restaurant serving Japanese cuisine, and free private parking is available. A mix of traditional Japanese and modern stay. Clean and cozy with excellent dining experience. Food and service was amazing.

What I like about the hotel is everything. The room is spacious, clean and very well designed. As a corner suit, the view is amazing. We feel like staying at home rather than in a hotel. The dinner is exceptional. The open-air onsen is calm & relaxing. The best of all is the staffs and their services.

32 km from Sapporo Station in Jozankei, Okujozankei Onsen Kasho Gyoen offers accommodation with access to a hot spring bath. Boasting a 24-hour front desk, this property also provides guests with a picnic area. The ryokan also features free WiFi, free private parking and facilities for disabled guests. The staff were very friendly and attentive. I felt very welcomed. The room was also very spacious and clean. The private onsen amazing and the view also perfect.

Located in Niseko, within 22 km of Niseko Annupuri International Ski Area and 16 km of Niseko Annupuri Hot Spring, Zaborin provides accommodation with a garden and free WiFi throughout the property as well as free private parking for guests who drive. The accommodation features a 24-hour front desk and valet parking for guests.

At the ryokan, the rooms come with a balcony. Every room comes with a private bathroom with a shower, a hairdryer and free toiletries. All units will provide guests with a wardrobe and a kettle. It was the highlight of my Japan trip. The staff were very friendly and helpful throughout and greet you at the entrance. The room was very spacious and the view was amazing with the snow covering the entire grass field. We went at the end of March so the snow hasn’t gone yet but the drive there was fine as there was no snow on the road. The outdoor private onsen in the room with the beautiful backdrop was fantastic. Dinner and breakfast were probably the best in my entire Japan trip. Kaiseki style dinner was prepared and made to the highest quality and I enjoyed every bite of it. Well done to the chef!

HanaMOMIJI Ryokan provides a 24-hour front desk services and free luggage storage. Guests can reserve one of the cosy family hot spring baths at an additional charge. Karaoke facilities and a game room are available at the main building Shika-no-yu. The onsens are beautiful, in particular the onsen on 2/F. The resting area in the lobby equipped with good speakers and make me relax after the dinner. The dinner and breakfast are good.

Ikoino Yuyado Iroha is just a 7-minute walk from Niseko Annupuri Ski Resort. Guests can soak in the hot spring baths or connect to the free WiFi. JR Niseko Train Station is located a 10-minute taxi ride away. We like how close it is to the slopes, the staffs are super nice, and the place is clean.

Boasting open-air hot spring baths and ocean views, Wakamatsu Hot Spring Resort is a 15-minute drive from JR Hakodate Station. Free parking is available on site. Delicately prepared Japanese meals are offered.

Featuring tatami (woven-straw) flooring and traditional futon bedding, each room comes with a flat-screen TV and a fridge. The en suite bathroom has a bath tub and free toiletries. This was our absolute favorite hotel during our entire trip to Hokkaido! The hotel is incredibly beautiful, with aesthetic details everywhere you look. Everything was spotlessly clean, and all the staff were so kind and welcoming. You can even book a private hot spring, which was such a special experience! We chose the breakfast-included option, and it was absolutely amazing—so delicious and abundant. On top of that, the restaurant’s view was breathtakingly beautiful. Our room was simply perfect—we loved it so much! It was spacious, beautifully designed, and had a stunning view of the ocean right outside. We are already looking forward to coming back again in the future! Thank you so much to the Wakamatsu and all the wonderful staff for giving us such a memorable stay.
