The hotel was very nice, it was a lovely experience staying in a ryokan with an onsen and having dinner served in our room. Everyone was very welcoming. The location is quite nice with the view to the sea. It was calm and lovely.

Stayed for a honeymoon. Staff went ABOVE and BEYOND; personally handwritten note during dinner, honeymoon gift, amazing service throughout at check-in, kaiseki dinner, japanese breakfast (superior even compared to other part of japan), calling a free shuttle for us to the ferry port. First time at miyajiama and i will be back.

I adored this hotel, couldn't have been better located and the staff were so friendly and helpful. The room was stunning and I was very sad to leave. The snacks and drinks on the balcony watching the sunset were highlights.

We went there to celebrate our 10th anniversary, and honestly, it was so magical I’m not sure words can do it justice. The food? Absolute perfection. Not your typical tiny experimental Michelin bites—this was real food, bursting with flavor, creativity, and joy. The wine pairings elevated everything even more. The chef was incredibly attentive and made us feel truly special. The service? Flawless. After dinner, we moved to the bar where—plot twist—you get to mix your own cocktail, all while smooth jazz plays in the background. Our room? Apparently, even Emperor once stayed there. Historical charm meets modern comfort in the best possible way. Breakfast was equally delightful, and the cherry blossom in the garden was in full bloom—pure magic. The atmosphere was quiet and serene. Only downside: the surrounding area doesn’t offer much to explore—but honestly, who wants to leave a fairytale anyway?

The room was very clean, spacious by Japanese standards, and offered serene traditional atmosphere blended seamlessly with modern conforms. There was a terrace with a beautiful view adding on to the comfort of the room. The dinner was traditional Japanese-style and for sure it should not be missed! The multi-course kaiseki meal was beautifully presented and very delicious, including fresh, local, seasonal ingredients. The hotel's location is good for visiting the Itsukushima Torii (Water gate) as it is just one station away from it but at the same time away from the madness of the island.

We had the most extraordinary, tasty breakfast that we’ve had in two weeks in Japan. Dinner was served in a private booth with six courses and an extensive list of wines and spirits to choose from. I drank the best sake I have had in Japan. The breakfast the following morning was equally delicious Again, always with local products. The staff were exceptional. Shuttle service to the train station.

Traditional Japanese dinner and breakfast were great. Onsen was fantastic. We had the traditional room with tatami mats - was lovely to try it out for a couple nights. Staff were very good. Highly recommend

Wonderful hospitality from our hosts, Incredibly delicious traditional Japanese evening meal and breakfast, All courses explained by Chief and Host to our family with teenagers. Comfortable futons on tatami floor with separate sitting areas was appreciated. Handy to both ferry terminals and short walk to sights.

The ryokan is close to the train station. The room was very spacious, and the futons and pillows were great for sleeping. The robes for wearing indoors were really nice.

Beautiful Ryokan in an old traditional building with a, lovely garden, right next to the sea. I enjoyed my stay right from the start with the warm welcome at check-in (owner could speak some English - thank you). The room was like the photos promised, a cosy futon waiting for me (there was also a tasty lemon treat in the fridge). Although small, the bath was nice and I could relax after a day of cycling. Breakfast was also delicious. Next time, I'll book dinner as well.

Beautiful view of the shrine from this quiet ryokan up and away from the tourist commotion. Very helpful staff and amazing food. Appreciated the private onsen. Very clear directions and ideas from staff and help with transporting luggage. Would definitely come back!

The only Ryokan on Rabbit Island. The hotel is a little aged but otherwise clean and functional. Stay typically includes breakfast and dinner, which are buffet style and quite nice. My room came with a toilet but no shower, instead guests can make use of the two onsen in the building. Which is a nice experience. Staying on the island offers the unique opportunity to enjoy the rabbits during their most active times, which is early morning and evening.

The location parallel to the main street was excellent and very convenient. The decor and style of the accommodation was tasteful, unique, typical of a traditional Japanese Inn. There was a private wooden onsen on site which was fantastic. Welcome bread and honey, water and snacks were provided. I would have been happy to stay there for several days, especially in the summer to enjoy the courtyard, balcony and light to the fullest extent.
