The location was great, just across from the bus stop. The room was clean and tidy, Yukatas left in room for us to use. The host was so kind and friendly, she even gave us a larger Yukata to wear! The breakfast was an amazing mix of Western meets Japanese, and was delivered to our room for us! She even brought welcome tea and snacks to our room when we arrived as well! Overall, the best hotel stay of our Japan trip so far!

Boasting garden views, Ryutakuzenji 宿坊 offers accommodation with balcony, around 28 km from Usui Pass Railway Heritage Park. This property offers access to a terrace and free private parking. The ryokan has family rooms and facilities for disabled guests. That was a very peaceful and enjoyable stay. We were warmly welcomed; the traditional room was huge and very clean, and the dinner was amazing. They also offer excellent vegetarian options for both dinner and breakfast. Futon beds were comfy. We woke up early to meditate at the temple, and we were given explanations about the temple’s history, as well as a guided visit. It was one of our best stays in Japan, and we couldn’t recommend it enough :)

All units will provide guests with air conditioning, a safety deposit box and a flat-screen TV. Very friendly staff. The hotel also has a great location , right near shopping areas and the nearby onsen park.

It was perfect and enabled us to experience Japanese onsens as a family. The views from the room were amazing. The ryokan welcomes children and our son even got his own yokatta

Situated in Kusatsu in the Gunma region, Soumeian features accommodation with free WiFi and free private parking, as well as access to a hot spring bath. This 3-star ryokan offers luggage storage space and a housekeeping service. The accommodation provides private check-in and check-out and a shared lounge for guests. Everything was fantastic. The ladies that greeted us were so adorable, the room vas spacious and very clean. We could choose the color of yukata and we could go to town and public onsens in it, also had baskets for towels. Breakfast is another experience in privet room that has a view on small garden. And charming older lady serves breakfast with many delicious thing in small plates. location for us vas perfect, ryokan is close to the Otaki no yu onsen, which we loved the most, and to Yubatake is 13 minutes walk.

Set in Nakanojo in the Gunma region, Sekizenkan Kashotei Sanso offers accommodation with free WiFi and free private parking, as well as access to a hot spring bath. This 4-star ryokan offers a lift and luggage storage space. The ryokan features family rooms. We stayed at Kashotei building, and our room has a private onsen, which I highly recommend if staying as a couple. The room was more spacious than I thought, and there is plenty of room for luggage and bags. Pyjamas and yukatas are provided, which you can wear to breakfast and dinner, which makes the stay very cosy. There are welcome snacks and drinks available both in our room, and also at the lounge. Breakfast and dinner were very tasty and of excellent quality, we enjoyed the in-season ingredients which are from the local area. Every dish was made with care and presented beautifully. The public onsens across the 3 buildings are clean, well-maintained and very relaxing. The buildings are connected and we didn't need to go outside to access them. Staff at check-in also provided us with a map and explained how to get to the baths. Excellent ryokan, definitely need to visit if you are planning to visit the region.

Located along Houshi River, Houshi Onsen Chojukan features a public hot spring bath, Japanese-style accommodations with free Wi-Fi and Japanese cuisine. A wooden building stemming from 100 years ago, the property breathes a historical atmosphere. I loved the building and the peacfull nature of this place. The baths were truly special, especially the open-aired one.
