A bit expensive but the experience was worth it, we had the best dinner of our trip in Japan, even though a translation of the menu in english would be appreciated. The room was big and confortable, we had a very nice stay here.

food was excellent with local specialties. staff did their best to translate and explain in english. free midnight ramen was a nice surprise. be sure to organize shuttle service from yuzawa in advance and be aware that currently many connections to the south and west are restricted due to heavy rain damage.

This is a smaller ryokan that is tastefully decorated and very comfortable. Breakfast and dinner were beautifully presented, delicious and the property catered to food allergies. There is an attention to detail and a warm welcome. The view of the lake was soothing and the location along the lakefront was perfect. After 4 weeks of travelling, this was the best ryokan I stayed in and it was the perfect place to relax. I would not hesitate to stay again and recommend.

Personnel was super nice. The man doing the transit to and from the Kakunodate station was the sweetest person there is. The madam working at the restaurant was very kind and friendly. Amenities are great, the onsen open all night is a huge sell point and didn’t disappoint one bit. He fact that you can ask to transit to and from the station any day even when not leaving/arriving was really convenient. Overall super stay with super people in a really nice and quiet place. Thanks for everything.

The hotel was kind enough to let us check in very late at night. They also had a free ice cream and curry service which was a pleasant surprise! In terms of facilities, they were fairly average. Also the room size was decent.
