Everything was great, we could enjoy some authentic hospitability. Our traditional style room was very nice and surprisingly comfortable. The staff was well trained, professional, and polite. We have been picked up at the bus station and brought to the hotel on arrival, as well on our way back. We could enjoy the public and private onsen as well which as a very nice experience, especially seeing Mt. Fuji from the private onsen as a small family. The kaiseki diner we had after bathing was superb, and it was an experience on it's own. Even we only spent one night there, we could relax and wind down. We opted to take the cable car nearby to see Mt. Fuji, and rented some bikes to cycle around the other day before we departed from the town.

This is the best hotel we stayed at in Japan! If you're looking for a traditional ryokan, with amazing kaiseki dinner (photo), private onsen (photo), traditional Japanese breakfast (photo) and A+ example of superior hospitality and service, not to mention foreigner-friendly, I totally recommend this place! It has everything you could need. I really enjoyed the private onsen and large tatami room (photo). It was my partner's first time in Japan, and he really appreciated everything in this hotel. The supreme dinner, tatami room and comfortable futons, and the private onsen was ideal for him as he has tattoos. Ps: I recommend you ask the hotel to book you a taxi one morning, to go to Chureito pagoda; amazing views of Mt Fuji!!

This was an exceptional stay. While the onsen doesn't offer a direct view of mount Fuji, we could clearly see it on our drive over thanks to clear skies. When we entered the premises, the staff was attentive immediately. From taking our luggage to making sure we were set up in our room. The room was SPACIOUS, with a lounge area and bedroom with screens to close off sections. The highlight was having our own outdoor bath to enjoy during cold winter nights. Perhaps the most breathtaking aspect of our stay were the meals. We were blown away by our dinner. It was the best thing we ate during out entire trip in Japan (we were in Tokyo, Osaka, and Kyoto prior). We enjoyed a sumptuous parade of dishes that really showed off the local ingredients. We didn't think it could get better, but breakfast the next day was equally, if not more, delicious. While expensive, we enjoyed a serene getaway with our private outdoor bath and excellent meals. Would love to return.

Hiromi was the most warm & welcoming host, along with her family. She even prepared some phrases As Gaeilge to welcome me! The rooms are typical ryoken style with tatami flooring, shoji doors and a comfortable futon for sleeping. Each room has a view of Mt Fuji if you are lucky to see her like I was. There is an onsen for bathing and they provide a yukata robe to wear. The location is nearby to the hop-on/hop-off bus and right beside lake Kawaguchiko which was the perfect place for photographing Mt Fuji unobstructed. The breakfast spread was amazing traditional Japanese style and they gave me a lift back to the station after check-out. I loved every element of my stay!

Our stay at the Mount Fuji View Hotel was nothing short of amazing. The room itself was beautiful, with an incredibly comfortable bed—honestly, it’s the best bed we’ve ever stayed in. Waking up to views of Mount Fuji every morning was an unforgettable experience. The staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcome, and their warmth and attentiveness truly made our stay special. And the food… just insane! You won’t regret booking this hotel.
