This is a fantastic place if you want to take some time to relax and take it slow, outside of the busy parts of Osaka. The best part our experience were the hosts, who were a lovely couple, very eager to help with anything, from restaurant recommendations to a lift to a train station. The second best part were the baths - it may seem weird at first that there are no bathrooms inside rooms (except for a sink), but that incentivises the use of the baths, which are for private use and were truly a highlight.

The stay was excellent, The staff made our stay amazing and super enjoyable, they were very kind, thoughtful and courteous. They were always very ready to help and the room was absolutely amazing, spotlessly clean and very well designed and put together with amazing drink options. The private sauna was very relaxing and very beautifully decorated. They were able to provide awesome restaurant suggestions as well and help us on our way to the next spot, they really made the trip in Osaka very memorable!

If you are looking for a Ryokan at the centre of Osaka - this is the best place! I really enjoyed the retro vibe of the facility. Just what I was looking for. Also great public bath with hot tub and a sauna. The location is also the best since you can see the Dotombori district out of your window. Surprisingly I didn’t hear any loud noises during the night so I enjoyed the sleep.

I was very worried for I was left alone since my sister went back to Canada. So I was alone and I realize the premises had no elevators so I panicked. I messaged the facility staff and told them. At first I didn’t want to stay because my suitcase was such a huge inconvenience. But the staff helped me with bringing my suitcase up. They were so kind and nice! They offered to help me afterwards as well. I felt like I would do ok going back down compared to going up. But they were so great. So hospitable. My room was cleaned after I had food poisoning. Completely. I felt horrible but I did my best in cleaning up after myself. I am very happy with the room it was adorable, too big for myself but, it’s ok I used up the space. Thank you for your kindness and hospitality. Would definitely stay again!

Kaneyoshi Ryokan gives you the 'Japanese sleeping experience' with tatami room, tea, and a public bath. At the height of summer, no one was using the bath, so I had it to myself. The ryokan's location is fantastic for enjoying the night life of Doton-duri street. The staff are concerned for guests and were patient and thorough in explaining everything we wanted to know.

Really comfortable room - we loved the tatami flooring and futons, and the layout was great with the separated window room looking out over the river. Comfiest pillows of the whole holiday (we stayed in 5 hotels over 3 weeks). The location was ideal, though maybe not great if you have children with you. The onsen was fabulous - I am quite heavily tattooed and they had no problem with it all, so it was the only onsen I had the opportunity to use during my holiday.

Location is fantastic, just minutes away from Dotonburi, and the actual ryokan is very clean, has many amenities as well as an authentic Japanese experience for the cost. They also provide Yukatas, and have your futon set up for you which is a big plus.

Of course the onsen, but also the breakfast room, which looked very friendly and open. The breakfast itself was very good as well, especially nice as it was a traditional breakfast - as well as traditionally served. The room was nice, but of course traditionally small as a Japanese room with futons. We got exactly what we expected as a "typical Japan experience"

We wanted to experience a ryokan so booked this place. It wasn't quite what we had imagined since it's a huge place. The rooms are very large and had futons that were laid out at night. We opted for the traditional breakfast in the morning, which was fine though not extraordinary. The location is good, on the canal just across the street from a lively area with tons of restaurants and shops.

Excellent location, had view over Dotonburi River which was stunning at night! Very comfy futons, large room for two people, tea and yukata nightwear provided, good sized bathroom, working AC, fridge for keeping drinks/food cool, lifts worked well, everything very clean and staff friendly! Not a bad thing to say, the perfect stay in a ryokan style room and at an excellent price!
