The property is very close to the main tourist attractions and the main bus terminal Kannawa - if you take bus 5 or 7, it would take about 15 minutes to/from Beppu station . We opted for the half board and we loved the meals provided by the ryokan. The hot spring options were good. Love the water temperature. The hosts were very nice and accommodating. Would recommend this place to anyone who’s looking to stay close to the main tourist attractions.

We had an amazing stay. The owner welcomed us and helped us book several activities and onsen in beppu. She even walked us to a nearby restaurant (everything else was closed and without her, we wouldn't have had the chance of having a real meal). The rooms were very comfortable. It was clean. Every morning we got hard boiled eggs from the onsen water. The location is also perfect. Very calm.

We loved everything about this ryokan! The room, the onsen, the food, and the service were all excellent. We felt as if we were staying in a 5-star hotel with very attentive and considerate hospitality. The generous and delicious kaiseki dinners and the abundant teishoku breakfasts were a highlight. This is truly a place where you can eat well and completely relax.

Kannawaen is an entirely non-smoking accommodation that features a garden, terrace and bar in Beppu. 100 metres from Hells of Beppu, the property is also 500 metres away from Jigokumushikobo Kannawa.

Maisonette facing the sea was fantastic. Love the decor of our room. Very beautiful view, room was very comfortable and spacious. Onsen was superb. English speaking staff very polite and helpful.

Great onsen with seaview，all room are spacious and with balcony and private onsen. can enjoy sunrise in room. Amazing view from lobby, very helpful staff. beside hotel is a public seaside park also with nice view. 10min by walk from JR station, and a bus station very near which can reach 7 hell onsens.

We had a wonderful stay at this hotel , huge lobby, and room, friendly front desk staff who are able to communicate in English assisting us re room reservation issue due to unexpected health issue. Really appreciated. Dinner was the highlight with sashimi, wagu beef, hot pot with lots of seafood, countless little dishes of appetizers and finally the smooth custard.
