The position of the hotel was absolutely amazing and the view of the torii gate from our lovely and very well appointed top floor suite was just incredible. The staff were very friendly yet extremely polite and nothing was too much trouble for them. Dinner and breakfast were delicious and we wished we were staying for longer than just one night! Amazing experience in a very nice Ryokan! The building itself is amazing, very close the the main interest points. All the staff is simply wonderful, they will do their best to make you feel at home. Last but not least, the food: I highly recommend to eat both dinner and breakfast at the ryokan: one of the best foods tried in Japan!

The room was very clean, spacious by Japanese standards, and offered serene traditional atmosphere blended seamlessly with modern conforms. There was a terrace with a beautiful view adding on to the comfort of the room. The dinner was traditional Japanese-style and for sure it should not be missed! The multi-course kaiseki meal was beautifully presented and very delicious, including fresh, local, seasonal ingredients. The hotel's location is good for visiting the Itsukushima Torii (Water gate) as it is just one station away from it but at the same time away from the madness of the island.

Lovely place. Excellent onsen. Very good food. Very friendly and efficient staff. The waiters at dinner were particularly attentive and kind and the chef remembered my wife’s food intolerances from the original booking, so we were very impressed. If you want a ryokan experience - yukata, onsen, traditional food - with a little extra comfort this place is highly recommended.

There was a wide range of amenities, hot spring, and the restaurant food was lovely we very much enjoyed our dinner and the staff were wonderful. We had a tatami style room and it was lovely of the staff to set up the futon whilst we had dinner. There were Yukatas to borrow for our stay as well and that was lovely.

This charming ryokan style hotel was like stepping back in time. Like others have mentioned, the hotel is dated, but it is well maintained and very clean. The view from the rooms out to the sea is lovely and futon beds very comfortable. The food was excellent and service exceptional. We enjoyed using the onsen facilities and rocking round in our yakuta. The shuttle service from the port was also very handy. We had a memorable stay and loved our time on Miyajima.

Miyajima is so beautiful! The hotel is right on the main walkway looking towards the water, so really easy to find from the ferry. It's. Beautiful traditional Ryokan with Tatami floors and futons and a public bath, which after a long day travelling or sightseeing was bliss! The staff were so friendly and helpful, with recommendations for dinner and helping us catch the bus to the beach for a cool off! My favourite place in Japan so far!

The staff were very kind and welcoming, the room was spacious with lovely views of the ocean. Deers were roaming around freely outside. Dinner was a traditional Japanese meal with many courses, all lovely. While we had dinner our futons were laid out for us and they were very comfortable, we all slept very well. My daughter and I visited the on-site onsen which was spacious and had a very nice outlook. We loved wearing our Yukata’s for dinner and breakfast, made the whole experience very special.
