We have never experienced this kind of luxury in our lives….. this place and environment totally blew our minds! We had te luxury to stay in the villa, and exceeded all our expectations. The views, the pool, the sauna, the hotspring tub, the fireplace, the BBQ… it was more than enough to really end our holiday totally relaxed! We were supposed to go to Tokyo the last 3 days of our holiday, but we where glad that we canceled that, and went to Shikuoka instead! The falls and wasabi fields and hikes nearby were great excursions, and then come back to the villa was a real dream! Also there were no other guests, so we had the whole place for ourselves…. Hoshi Meguri is an wonderful traditional hostel. The room was beautiful and spacious. The futon were extremely comfortable, even for a Westerner ! And the three private onsens are amazing to unwind Yurie & her husband were amazing hosts, kind, discreet yet really friendly. They prepared delicious and refined meals, brought up fresh ice tea regularly and kept my room always tidy. They were of good advice on what to do around. They offered a couple times to drive me to the train station and were of great help when a typhoon hit and I had to change all my plans. It’s definitely one of my best stays of all my travels in Japan. I hope to come back one day if I travel around Shimoda again!

An absolutely stunning experience! All the hotel staff were extremely friendly and enthusiastic, behaving like hosts welcoming distinguished guests. Even though we could only communicate in English with difficulty, they made great efforts to overcome this barrier and were incredibly patient.The dining experience at the hotel was fantastic, with flavors and dishes that were truly impressive. Every guest dines in a private room.The inn is built around a pond and gardens, a two-story wooden structure that is also very quiet. The rooms include a living room, bedroom, bathroom, shower room, and a balcony—plenty of space even for a family of four without feeling crowded.The hotel also provides shuttle service to and from Shimoda. Despite the language barrier, the driver was very patient with family members who were unexpectedly delayed and couldn't arrive on time.

We love the room and the garden with onsen very much. There is a special thing we notice during our stay - it is so elegant to have toilot paper with beautiful lace patterns in the room. I can see that the staffs prepared the stay with care.

Very modern and clean hotel. The room was perfect, it had a smart TV and a very comfortable futon. Good craft beers for sale. A short walk into town but for the price its amazing deal.

We loved our stay at Seiryu-so! It felt like we had gone to a resort given all the amenities! The room was also very large and comfortable. The hotel is also quite accessible, being less than a 10 minute drive from restaurants / convenience stores.

This is undoubtedly the best hotel I have stayed in. Everything from the location, the amazing staff, the huge room from where you can see the beach and the incredible private onsen inside the room was 10/10. It’s a bit far from everything but it’s completely worth it. Also, they provide a bus to and from the station.
