This was the most amazing experience. The onsens were very, very clean, crystal water, the food was spectacular, and our waitpersons were amazing! I loved this place. Even the shuttle bus was a great experience. Everyone who worked there was perfect, and my japanese was very little, and their English was little we could still communicate. I want to keep this a secret! Shhĥ!❤️

Very nice and traditional ryokan renovated 3 years ago with a lot of luxurious taste. The hallway to eat diner and breakfast is amazing dated from edo period. Rooms are modern and spacious. The chef was working in refined restaurant in Tokyo before and he is cooking an amazing food, the best I had during my trip in nagano. Staff was nice and friendly. I really recommend.

I loved the location !! In the middle of nowhere, surrounded by nature and silence. But to get there you have to catch the last shuttle bus at 17:10 sharp, it doesn’t wait and you have to be on driver’s list ( means you have to reserve the seat first writing a message to the hotel staff). It stops at Parking 1. Rooms are quite large and spacious, our had a toilet and a sink at the entrance, tatami beds and a huge window overlooking the forest 😍😍😍 green tea and coffee are provided, you can also buy cup ramen at the reception of Fuji no Mori hotel, but there is nothing else to eat there. We could use onsen that was situated in the sister hotel Fuji no Mori, it’s 2 min walk, and it was gorgeous!!!! They also have open air onsen. In the morning the same shuttle bus can take you back to Tsumago or to Nagiso.

Located within 14 km of Muku Hatoju Memorial Museum and 21 km of Achi Shrine, Fudouonsen Sawaya provides rooms with air conditioning and a private bathroom in Shimojo mura.

It is a wonderful Onsen hotel in the heart of Nagano. The people working there a wonderful, helpful, the politeness is beyond every standard, even for Japan. Room spacious and well-equipped. The beautiful garden view was soothing and refreshing. The gentleman at the reception was very helpful and polite. He tried his very best to answer our every question and helped arranging our stargazing night tour efficiently. Breakfast was good.
