Apelvikstrand Strandhus offers modern, self-catering holiday homes next to Apelvik Beach, 3 km south of central Varberg. Each accommodation has a furnished patio, kitchenette and flat-screen TV. Varberg Fortress is 3.2 km away. There was really nothing not to like. I did experience a little difficult checking in as it was late and dark, and signage leaves a little to be desired. I have to take partial blame though, as if I had read my emails properly I would have realised there was an app to download that helped matters. The cottages are unpretentious but very nice, the location is unbeatable if scenery is your preference, and I had the good fortune to visit in the off-season making my stay great value. I fully expect the prices to be dramatically different in the high season though.

Situated right on the seafront, lovely and quiet and easy to get to from the motorway. The room was huge... I could have parked my car in it and still have had room to spare :-) The restaurant served delicious local food at very reasonable prices all served by a very friendly barman/waiter/receptionist. Breakfast also had an excellent selection. All this at an amazingly low price!
