The owners went out of their way to be helpful and efficient - very nice people. We loved the pool and surrounding decks and the view of the river Douro was spectacular. A very nice breakfast was offered in a very pleasant room with the same wonderful view.

Daniel at the reception was very responsive to emails prior to our arrival. He would immediately respond and truly went above and beyond! The entire staff at the hotel was superb! We had an incredible experience and treated us like royalty. Highly recommend.

Octant Douro located in Vista Alegre, Castelo de Paiva. Offering a stunning infinity pool the hotel overlooks the Douro River blending itself with the surrounding nature. The view from our room was amazing. The staff were amicable and professional. We took the boat tour on the Douro, which was relaxing and scenic. We would definitely go back again to the Octant Douro.

Quinta de S.Bernardo - Winery & Farmhouse is offering accommodation in Mesão Frio. Among the various facilities are a garden, a terrace, as well as a shared lounge. ‎‏There are no words to describe the experience we had! It was the highlight of our trip. We stayed for 3 nights. Amazing room with all the facilities you can think about, super clean, and has a breathtaking view of the Douro River. The food is excellent, everything is simply delicious and fresh, farm-to-table. The wine is fabulous. We also did a great massage in the spa. The staff is amazing, helps with everything, lovely and kind. We are waiting for the next time!

Angela’s hospitality was above every known standard. She invited us to stay and enjoy the pool till late afternoon on our checkout morning, she served us a try of cheeses and snacks with 2 glasses of wine to the pool area, and she gave my husband as a gift a book he started reading from the house library. The dinner Foni clocked us was amazing.

Everything was beautiful! It’s a 800 year old building but in pristine and very chique furniture & design. It has recent expansion and it is top quality walls, bedroom & bathroom. The view from rooms, lounge, patio, pool, and dining room is pristine like a painting. The owner and those that work there are incredibly friendly, kind & accommodating. We felt like they were family’s The dinner, wine & desserts were top of the line. I highly recommend the place and if ever visiting Portugal, will stay again!
