Miyajima Guesthouse Mikuniya is a traditional Japanese-style guesthouse located on Miyajima (Itsukushima). It has a beautiful Japanese garden and a large living room, creating a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere. Our friendly mascot cat will welcome you! The property was amazing and the host was super kind and polite. The room was an old style Japanese room with futon. Breakfast and dinner were also good. Bathrooms are shared but very clean. The common area is a plus where you can meet other people and share experiences. I totally recommend it.

Only a 5-minute drive from Miyajima Ferry Port with its free shuttle, beautiful ocean views can be enjoyed from Miyajima Seaside Hotel. The hotel features a public bath, a karaoke room and free WiFi at the lobby. Amazing experience in a traditional style with a modern comfort. The hotel is located in a quiet place ~20 mins walk from the ferry port. It may sound far but the hotel provides the shuttle bus as often as you need. We were prepared for the ryokan rules about the shoes, so it wasn’t a surprise for us. The traditional room is very beautiful, clean, looks better in real life than on the pictures. Nice view from the window, I even saw an eagle on the tree. The hotel staff is extremely polite and helpful. Usually the staff set up the bed after the dinner but they set it up for me when I asked for a day nap. The dinner and breakfast servings is extraordinarily. Nice choice of exclusive souvenirs, especially loved the Momiji manju cookies, the ones from the hotel are MUCH better than the ones from the shopping street. In general, I highly recommend to stay here at least for 1-2 night for better exploration of Miyajima without rush.

Jukeiso features Japanese-style rooms overlooking the majestic entrance gate (Torii) of Itsukushima-jinja Shrine, only a 5-minute walk from the Unesco World Heritage Site itself. The hotel offers public and private hot baths and a free shuttle to/from Miyajima Ferry Terminal. Free Wi-Fi is provided at the lobby. Incredible staff, they were very helpful! The rooms are big, and you even get a Japanese style greeting.

Certain rooms include an en suite bathroom. Toiletries and slippers are provided for in the private and shared bathroom. This was our favorite hotel in Japan! We stayed only one night to get to see the island of Miyajima a bit more, and staying here was such a nice experience. In particular, the dinner at the hotel was so special and delicious! You need to message them to make the reservation some days in advance, but they were always very responsive. The facilities of the hotel were really great: the public baths, the rooftop terrace, the footbath café. Finally, the staff were all incredibly nice and helpful. I wholeheartedly recommend staying here.

Offering sea views, Onomichi Guest House Miharashi-tei is an accommodation set in Onomichi, 70 metres from Senkoji Temple and 700 metres from Onomichi History Museum. With a bar, the 2-star guest house has air-conditioned rooms with free WiFi, each with a shared bathroom. The accommodation offers a shared kitchen, full-day security and luggage storage for guests. The location is unparalleled - best views I've ever seen. It's a lot of stairs but it is so worth it. Breakfast is lovely and you can bring in your own food to eat in the beautiful cafe.

Oyado Tsukiusagi is set in Miyajima, 600 metres from Five Storey Pagoda, less than 1 km from Itsukushima Shrine, as well as a 15-minute walk from Daisho-in Temple. It is located 2.4 km from Tsutsumigaura Beach and provides luggage storage space. Museum of History and Folklore is 1.1 km from the ryokan and Shiraito Falls is 1.5 km away. Everything was exceptional. We loved the Oyado Tsukiusagi! It had the most comfortable futon beds we experienced through our 5 weeks of traveling through Japan, a beautiful and clean room, and the lady at the hotel was very nice and welcoming. We really love Miyajima so we were very happy that we could stay at the island through the night.

Located right in front of Miyajima Aquarium and a 5-minute walk from Itsukushima Shrine's exit, Mizuhasou offers accommodations in a modern yet traditional décor. Free Wi-Fi is available at the entire building. Miyajima Ferry Terminal is a 15-minute walk away. All the staff is very friendly. Breakfast was very tasty . I recommend it all.

Located in the World Heritage Miyajima Island, Iwaso features Japanese-style accommodations with beautiful surrounding views. Guests can relax in the indoor and outdoor hot-spring baths and request for massages. A free shuttle is available from Miyajima Ferry Terminal, which is also a 5-minute walk away. We stayed in the older part of the ryokan and it was spectacular. The rooms have beautiful views and the onsen is heavenly. Staff were friendly and helpful, and our meals were delicious and perfectly presented. We had a very romantic stay and enjoyed being on the island at night. Do yourself a favour and wear the yukata - it's the most comfortable clothing I've ever worn. We would love to come back!

ITSUKUSHIMA IROHA is located in Miyajima’s Omotesando Avenue, a 5-minute walk from Itsukushima Shinto Shrine and Miyajima Pier. The hotel offers a restaurant and Japanese-style rooms with free wired internet access. Beautiful property, excellent staff AND amazing dinner. Just incredible.
