The hotel has an Art Deco design and is set in an elegant Edwardian house with some period features. All bedrooms feature en-suite bathrooms complimented with luxury Bath House toiletries. Most rooms also offer stunning views of the river Rothay or the scenic fells. Sarah and the rest of the staff were so friendly and made us feel welcome from the moment we stepped in the door. The bed was really fantastic, probably one of the best beds I've ever slept in. Even though the duvet was a double duvet (we like our single duvets in Scandinavia), it was still wide enough that we didn't wake each other up during the night. I recommend trying the evening platter with local delicacies one night, just remember to pre-order 24 hrs in advance. I would definitely stay here again the next time I come this way.

The guest house is very safe and secure, which made me feel 10x more comfortable on my first solo trip. Barely a 5 minute walk down to the lakeside, with plenty bars and food places to choose from nearby

Our hotel is perfectly situated with views of Lake Windermere, just a short stroll from the bustling village centre of Bowness-on-Windermere and the boats that travel the length of Windermere, making it easy to visit Ambleside, Brockhole, Wray Castle and Lakeside without a car. Excellent property with fantastic amenities and great location. The staff were phenomenal.

A 5-minute drive from Bassenthwaite Lake, Ravenstone Manor is an 19th-century manor house set in 3 hectares of ground. The property is at the foot of Skiddaw, overlooking Bassenthwaite Lake. It offers stone walls and en suite bathrooms. Absolutely everything, the professionalism of the staff, the amazing scenic view from the room (number 1 and number 3 as we decided to stay an extra night), the amazing bed. They were also very accommodating with our dog, and the dog walk around the hotel is marvellous! The restaurant food was also really great! And so was the breakfast! Thank you
