Located at the summit of Mount Pilatus at 2,132 metres above sea level, the Hotel Bellevue is reachable by aerial tramway or the world's steepest cog railway in summer. It features a terrace with panoramic views over the Swiss Alps and the bay of Lucerne. I went in Oct and trip advisor suggested I was taking a risk as weather could be bad. I wanted to experience being above the clouds and or view of town from the mountain. I took the risk and it totally paid off. The view of mountain peaks sticking up in blanket of clouds was amazing. Although, you can do a day trip but you would miss the sunrise and sunset experience from the top. The dinner as well as the view from my room was amazing as well.

The staff especially Linda at the reception was exceptional in the way she helped us plan our stay. The location is spot on to visit the old town. The rooms were comfortable and had all the necessary amenities. The breakfast was brilliant. 10/10
