The hospitality of the staff was wonderful, and they welcomed us with gentle smiles. The furnishings, building, and garden were beautifully arranged and tasteful. It was old but clean. We chose the buffet for meals, and it was very satisfying. The location was the best! There was mist, and we could see the mountains faintly. Namaste. My dream is to come again in the fall.

Clean rooms, fantastic view from the terrace/rooftop. The host kindly helped us to organise a sunrise trip to the viewpoint for a reasonable price. Wouldn't hesitate to stay again

The staff were excellent, especially Diwana who went out of his way to help. On a clear day the view is breathtaking, I very much doubt there is better. Rooms clean, very good size, & again spectacular views. It certainly is no 5*. However you get the impression it once was. Bit of a " hotel Budapest" if you have ever seen the film. However for service, & a view that will take your breath away, it is well worth it.

The owner is really friendly and really cares for his guests. The building itself looks like from a fairy tale, very atmospheric and traditional. Beds were comfortable and the shower hot. The location is superb, close to the central Durban square but in a quieter alley. Patan is beautiful, we liked it more than Kathmandu. Everywhere there are narrow alleys, hidden temples and beautiful old shops. Breakfast is traditional Newari dishes and omelet with toast, everything was tasty. Staying here was an absolute dream.

fabuluous hotel, great place to stay after the hustle and bustle of Kathmandu. Short taxi ride to Thamel and other touristy locations. close to airport. Great staff. Food and drink service great, food fabulous. Really grateful for the luggage storage.

Nestled within beautifully landscaped grounds, Shambaling Hotel is a charming refurbished house from the 70s.
