Staying at Peacock Guesthouse was an experience on its own! It is a piece of a medieval fairytale brought into the modern world. Not only you feel the history everywhere, but also the artistry of Bhaktapur craftsmen: the wood-carved windows overlooking the oldest square of the town and the temple, the wooden artifacts in the cute courtyard, the craftsman himself working next to the restaurant…. We marveled every minute of our stay there, we tasted a good amount of their great food and we spent literally hours observing this lively town from our windows… If you are in Bhaktapur and you like living in history and art, look no further.

This is the best place I have stayed at in the Kathmandu valley. Patan is a lovely area, but most importantly, this guesthouse provides all the comfort one could wish for. The owners are incredibly helpful and kind. I cannot recommend staying here enough!

The design is breathtaking, each corner is full of unique elements. It’s looking like a nawari court from decades ago. The rooms are gorgeous, very big and comfortable.

Nestled within beautifully landscaped grounds, Shambaling Hotel is a charming refurbished house from the 70s.

Very welcoming and peaceful Tibetan Buddhist hotel. Lovely rooms, prayer flags flying, sound bowls in the room, gated entrance, prayer wheels, great indoor/outdoor cafe/restaurant, beautiful potted plants, yoga and spa including sound healing. Handy to both Bouddha Stupa and Phulbari Monastery. I easily walked to both (Stupa is closer).

Located in Kathmandu, 700 metres from Boudhanath Stupa, The Boudha Inn provides accommodation with a garden, free private parking and a terrace.

Excellent location. Very near to the main road but not noisy. Breakfast was good. Staff was very nice. The room was good and clean considering the price. They also provide free airport drop service!

Fantastic staff that made me feel very welcome. Special mention to Abin at the bar who made some Fantastic cocktails. Location good, on the less busy side of Thamel but a quick 10 minute walk gets you to the busy tourist areas, I liked that the hotel provided a sanctuary from that noise (I spent a night in the main area and found it too noisy to sleep)
