I came to Rotterdam for the sole purpose of visiting and staying aboard one of my all-time favourite liners, SS Rotterdam. I loved my interior cabin and appreciated all the original furnishings in the cabin. Breakfast was more than adequate and taking the ship tour the next morning was a huge highlight for me - the staff on duty really appreciated my love of their ship and took a lot of time to explain things to me.

The hotel can be easily reached by tram if you are using public transport. It is about 8-10 minutes away from the tram stop. Erasmus University buildings are right in front of the hotel. The room was spotless and very spacious. I missed the breakfast but enjoyed my dinner at the restaurant. There are vegan dishes as well, the food is prepared on the spot and delicious, not expensive but of good quality. The service is excellent.

Set in a historic building, the family-owned Hotel Van Walsum is situated in a peaceful area in the city centre and only 150 metres away from tram stop Mathenesserlaan.
