I like the room. It was big and child friendly. There was a kitchen also which is to my liking esp my kids are picky eater so I have to bring ready cooked food.

Great location on the hill above Vik village; where you can experience the real Iceland, on one side looking at the Atlantic, on the other side at the volcanic hill (or glacier) I'm not sure); continental breakfast, the selection is satisfactory, but don't expect a large selection of food, but enough to eat well. There was no gluten-free food, but I believe that the hotel can take care of that as well. On the reception there is even a samll area to buy basic comsmetic goods :-) Rooms comfortable, warm, clean, there is all you need! We took two rooms , due there is no family rooms if you travel with kids.

Hotel Katla is located in South- Iceland, 5 km from Vik i Myrdal. The surrounding South Coast is a land of dramatic landscapes and unforgettable natural treasures, all within easy reach.

The property was perfect for our one night stopover. Was very comfortable, clean and had everything we needed. It is a little out of Vik however if you are renting a car then it’s only a very short distance into town. Couldn’t fault a thing!

This room was super comfortable, and the breakfast was amazing — it totally exceeded my expectations. They had everything from coffee and bread to bacon, eggs, and fruit — a perfect way to fuel up for the whole day. If it fits your budget, I’d definitely recommend staying here.

It was tiny, but all facilities were well equipped. The guest’s book inside the cottage was quite funny. If there was having aurora light, this location would be a good spot. Unfortunately, I didn’t see any at last.

Very nice, cozy and clean 2 bedroom apartment. All amenities provided, they even made a pancake mix for us. It was a nice touch meeting the hosts in person after all other accommodation we booked is self check-in. Also nice to go for a walk, great location.
