Staying at the Bedford Hotel in Tavistock was truly a special experience. The hotel retains all the charm of traditional English hospitality, with warm, elegant and beautifully kept interiors that immediately make you feel at home. With the Christmas decorations, the atmosphere becomes even more magical: it really feels like stepping back in time, into a Victorian postcard. The location is perfect, right in the heart of Tavistock, ideal for exploring the town on foot and enjoying the historic centre and Pannier Market. My room was comfortable, spotless and quiet (in my case, the room remained wonderfully silent despite a musical event taking place that evening), with very comfortable beds. The staff were consistently friendly, helpful and professional, always ready to assist with a smile. The breakfast was excellent too, with great attention to traditional English fare. A hotel I would highly recommend to anyone looking for charm, peace and an authentic atmosphere. During the Christmas period, it truly feels like a little gem.

I'd reserve dinner next time as the restaurant was fully booked until too late for us to eat, shame. Breakfast was amazing. The situation of the inn is superb, I didn't expect the view and it really made the stay something special. Very friendly staff.
