This is a delightful hotel, and I was disappointed that I could not stay longer! The location is within walking distance to the major sites, and it is also close to a trolley line. The room was very spacious and clean. The breakfast which was included was plentiful with a lot of variety. A parking garage was available. I will definitely stay here again as I plan to visit Augsburg again next year.

Booked this hotel one year in advance for excellent location in city centre with underground carpark. Shortly before arrival we were warned that the hotel had suffered severe water damage resulting in the closure of the breakfast room, the lobby bar and the failure of the lift. We were offered the chance of free cancellation but with the assurance that we would be allocated a lower floor room we decided to keep the reservation. We were pleased that we did. The pre-visit briefings and the fantastic welcome from Sonya confirmed we were right. Andreas (manager), Sonya and Alex were amazing. They had worked round all the problems and were so impressive one could not criticise the temporary facilities. Timed slots for breakfast did not bother us and the breakfast provided was better than many hotels with full catering facilities. Our room was small but excellently fitted with quality fittings, comfortable bed and excellent shower/bathroom. All members of staff spoke perfect English, were incredibly friendly and coped with their handicaps with good humour and impressive service. If Hotel am Rathaus warn you of their limited facilities (hopefully to end by Aug 2025) and offer you the chance to cancel you will not regret retaining your reservation and you will be rewarded with warm service, helpfulness and the central position in the city centre.

Fantastic room (suite) not expected to be so big. Very clean and very comfortable. Breakfast (12€), well worth the price. The staff were so helpful. Superb stay and highly recommend.

staff were so welcoming and attentive. Self service breakfast was ideal and the coffee machine was excellent. Lovely bright and airy restaurant for dinner. Room was fabulous with great black out curtains and a super comfy bed.
