The property is simply beautiful. A family run hotel at the base of Eiger making for a spectacular setting. The nearby church with the steep mountains in the background are a treat for the eyes. It is away from the crowds of the town but near enough to quickly walk. Our rooms were spacious with a beautiful balconey to relax. The owners were helpful with advise on where to go. We are dinner there one night and it was a very enjoyable dinner. The service at breakfast and dinner is really very good and so is the food. Grindelwald is such a beautiful place we could’ve easily spent a week there!

The most amazing place i have ever visited, I didn't want to leave. The town was breathtaking. The hotel was superb. The female manager and the other lady working (didn't get their names) were so lovely and kind. The facilities were great with a wellness centre with steam room and multiple saunas, which were amazing. The rooms view of the mountains was almost from a post card it was so special. The hotel is in perfect location, almost right across the road from train station. The hotel and location was overall the best of our trip!!

The family-run Alpenhof hotel is only 3 minutes' walk away from the centre of Grindelwald and the train station, and is situated right at the ski slope.

We liked: 1. Wonderful staff for making us feel at home 2. The hotel transfers up and down the hill: even though it's a short distance, with suitcases and young kids would have been a challenge :) 3. The location: close to town yet quiet, beautiful views as it is on a hillside, close to the supermarket, restaurants, train station etc. 4. Kids toys in the lobby! What a cosy touch, thank you. 5. The family suite was cozy, clean and comfortable 6. Breakfast and our dinner there were delicious and our dinner staff were wonderful too
