How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

The shower felt pretty dated and old. It seemed like an old building and it was a value stay so i guess that's understandable. The room key was a battle to get to open the door. I had to have the person in the room next to me who stays there often help me get the keycard to work. That's just a repair issue so it will eventually get fixed. Not the worst place, not the best place.

If your credit card is the new one’s that doesn’t have numbers, they will not accept it.

It was not very clean, no fresh scent in the air. The bathroom didn't smell freshly cleaned. It was old and in much need of some type of upgrade. TV wouldn't power on had to use my phone for entertainment. The type of regular patrons that they were renting to tells a story of it's own.

It is really comfortable to be able to rest, the really unpleasant thing is the bad smell that the folder produces because of how dirty it is, and due to this bad smell it is difficult to sleep.
It's not so bad for the price you pay.

One male member of staff was very rude, bad customer service. The carpet was in desperate need of a professional clean, I'm glad I brought slippers!
Great location for the airport. One female member of staff was lovely and polite. It's clean even though it's very dated. It was cheap.

Filthy. There are hairs in all the towels, and stains on the carpets. Card keys worked less than half of the times

Shower water pressure was quite low, shower water temperature kept changing every second (sometimes sudden cold, sometimes sudden very hot), TV never worked, city sight-seeing attractions were quite away and location lacked guest friendly connectivity to attractions, staff does not answer phone calls.

Outdated space, needs new paint, and updates. Parking was $5 for the night. We had a good spot, but it looks like some people stay here for a while, and it was a little sketchy driving through the lot.

Room was run down, carpet had (what looked like dried blood) stains on the carpet outside the bathroom, and walls were thin enough to hear the neighbors. Found a hook sticking out of the carpet beside the bed. Luckily I saw it before I stepped on it! Blankets were a bit thin and only kept me warm when layered. Had lots of difficulty connecting to the WiFi, but it worked fine once it connected. The free shuttle from the airport to the hotel is rumored to exist, but after waiting for an hour at the shuttle bus pick up without the Travelodge shuttle showing up, I opted for a taxi instead, which cost me $20 USD for a short 10min ride. Don’t bother calling the hotel, they never answer their phone. The police showed up while I was checking in, so the safety of the location raised some doubts in my mind. Not a lot of restaurants and/or convenient stores nearby, but there is an iHop next door and a McDonald’s about a block away if you want to walk. Road noise from the highway beside the hotel could also wake up light sleepers
Location was close enough to the airport. Bed was comfortable, and the TV had a lot of channels available for viewing. IHOP right next to the hotel. Easy access to airport shuttle bus from the main lobby. Staff was friendly. You definitely get what you pay for, no more, no less.

The man at the counter would not let me check in to my reservation for some reason while some of the others he talked to he gave them their rooms
