Not really a hotel, more like rooms with a manager available on call. Need to let manager know when arriving to prevent check in delay. Air con not working, room drapes and windows need updating.

Location is excellent, beautiful town. Clean, pleasant manager.

The fridge made quite a noise and we didn't locate the noise until the next morning. The soundproofing between rooms isn't great.

The location was excellent and the room was clean and had a great view. Comfy bed. Clarity around facilities (no breakfast, but that was OK)

The room is not maintained well. It seems like this place is an afterthought by those running it. The carpet is very old and not clean. The bathroom was not cleaned well. The bathroom itself would benefit from addition by subtraction. The ancient rubber shower mat (that has certainly not been cleaned in years) needs to go. The bright pink hair dryer that was no doubt left by a bygone hotel guest and is covered in years with of dust adds nothing at all! The cloth shower curtain (That again, has likely not been cleaned in years) sticks to your skin as you shower. It has stuck to other people's skin too!

The views from this room was pretty cool. The old-fashioned quaintness of the room was nice. The bed was confortable.

Our TV service was interrupted for a while and management had to contact the cable company to fix it. A neighboring room was somewhat noisy and made it difficult to sleep at first.

Room was a Lil small, did no t have a microwave or mini table to put any snacks anywhere. Beds comfortable & was clean. I would stay there again.

SFBay is gorgeous & Sausalito Harbor is gorgeous too!

Only one thing was not up to par. The mattress in my room was like sleeping on a marshmallow. It was mushy, and I just sank in until the springs flattened out. Perhaps the springs were worn out because the bed offered no support. IMHO.

The location was perfect. The value was really good. The room was very nice and offered a fabulous view. The bathroom was very well equipped with lots of towels and toiletries. Overall, the hotel was quaint and in keeping with the experience one thinks of having when visiting Sausalito.

Felt that for the price, the room was very small. Had to take turns moving around the room without bumping into each other. Could have had introductory directions upon arrival for the heater. (no heat the 1st night). Left phone message for management but phone was answered by "Gables Hotel" ?? Never received a call back. Lobby staff was non-existent from the beginning. Had to call them and they came from somewhere else.

We enjoyed the historic aspect of the hotel and the historic location of it. Liked the proximity to the town's restaurants and shopping. Liked the energy of the town and walkability. Liked the window seating with nice view of bay and park. Pretty tile and stained glass in bathroom.

There was a constant noise in our room, like a reverberating motor. Couldn’t find the source and the same sound was in the lobby. We were right above the lobby.

Water pressure was too low. Front desk person was just terrible to us when we arrived late (our flight was delayed). We obviously woke him up and he was quite grumpy. It wasn't our fault! It gave a very bad first impression. Mattress sagged (room 205) Water was not placed in room. We had to to go hall closet to get our own. Location was excellent and room was clean

Initially, I was put off when I arrived and discovered a note on the door to call a cell number to arrange check-in. However, a gentleman showed up within 5 minutes and explained the access procedures to me. There was seldom anyone at the front desk, but there was truly no need either. It was like staying in a small apartment building, coming and going in safety as I pleased. So, not technically a complaint!

Wonderful location. Walking distance to everything of interest. Very comfortable room with great bedding. Convenient (paid) parking within easy walking distance. I could imagine the lot being full though during high season. I had to wait about 15 minutes for a slot to open when I arrived early afternoon on a Saturday. The AC worked well and there was a well supplied coffee/tea set-up. Great water pressure in the sink and shower. I thoroughly enjoyed my first visit to Sausalito and will definitely return and choose this hotel again!

The noise. Not only was there lots of street noise beginning at 6:45am, but construction on the building next door was incredibly loud.

Aiden, who works at the front desk, is superb! The hotel is in a great location. Rooms are charmingly decorated and clean.

There is a certain inconvenience when there isn't always staff at the front desk during regular hours. This is the first time we've realized there is a companion hotel, and staff is mostly there. Couldn't work the very simple coffee machine, and instructions should have been able to be given over the phone, but they had to come to the room. King size bed had two very uneven sides to it.

We've stayed at this hotel before and really love the location. We knew we were going to be using the ferry, so it is perfect for that! We could watch fog move in and out all over the bay, but it never visited us in Sausalito itself, which made weather and views fabulous.

Parking with your own vehicle wasn't that great.

Great location for our vacation. Easy access to the ferry to go into San Francisco. Near great spots for vacationing.
