We have been stopping there on our two-day trips to and from the Outer Banks for the past three years. The location suits our needs perfectly. In addition, the place is calm, perfectly clean and the hosts are great. Highly recommended.

No way to avoid mentioning it sadly, in room 5 the Aircon is very noisy all night. It's not just a hum, it's really noisy.

A very nice place to stay with a friendly, helpful host. It's set in an attractive area and the building itself is pretty. Beds were comfortable and room was as warm or cool as we needed. Easy parking. Facilities were excellent, breakfast was good, some very nice touches such as sodas and snacks to buy as you need - at a price that means it's being done for the guest's comfort, not to make more money.

Room was on the lower level, ie, walkout basement. Don’t get me wrong, everything was finished off to yet max!

The pictures do NOT do it justice. We were able to check in early once we contacted owner. She was very sweet. There was tranquil music playing softly through whole house. My husband and I booked the master with the jacuzzi and it was beyond relaxing. I did read some comment about someone complaining about the TV volume needing to stay under 15....the volume was at 8 in our room and plenty loud. I would recommend this place to anyone!!!! We will be going back.

What didn’t you like? The only thing and I mean only thing we didn’t like was the room did not have glasses to drink out of or bottled water to drink but in the scheme of things that’s a very small detail.

The host and hostess were friendly and very welcoming.

What I didn't like about Whispering Oaks? My stay was too short.

Looking for somewhere to stay in the Newark and surrounding area? Look no further. This place is the Bomb! Ultra clean, extremely friendly, and Very secure. I could leave my car unlocked if I wanted to! I stayed Two nights and it was an absolute delight staying here. 24 hour "Filtered spring water" available, homemade croissants on the weekends along with fresh other breakfast items. The owners check regularly for anything the Travelers staying there might need. The bed was the most comfortable.

We happened upon Whispering Oak after our original reservation somewhere else was abruptly canceled. I couldn't believe the deal so we drove there to be sure. The property was absolutely stunning and Karin and her husband were the ultimate hosts. The ambience was peaceful and relaxing, the Presidential suite was spacious, warm, and cozy, and the common area was spacious and well- furnished with just about everything you could think of and more. I've never done a house share before, but I will definitely return.
