Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomOur room was hyper noisy due to a power generator right below it (room 201) - we had to get drunk to fall asleep as even the bed was shaking :) however staff tried their best to find a solution and eventually took off the lunch from the bill to compensate. Service on the rooftop was quite average - not remembering orders and taking ages to take them.
The rooftop terrace is amazing and staff is very cordial from the baked to the concierge to the bar. The style of the hotel is so unique - we loved it. There are also plenty of activities organised every day - from daily yoga to night shows.

United States$60 parking per car per night meant that we spent another $120 on top of our room price. That's too much! They are taking advantage of the fact there there is no street parking in the neighborhood and I don't appreciate fleecing your guests like this. Parking should be complementary or at least affordable. I'll come without a car next time but it's LA - that's an inconvenience. While the mattress was very comfortable, the pillow selection was just ok. There was not a single firm pillow for those who prefer that.
I like the whole feel of the hotel - it's like a quirky home away from home. A lot of great attention to detail has gone into this place, like the custom soap in the room, the artwork and decor, the selection of snacks, the cute mini bar. We particularly like the rooftop restaurant with it's lush greenery, excellent food and staff, very nice bar to spend some time, and nightly programming (a piano player on our night there). You can easily just spend your time in the hotel without going anywhere and you'd have an excellent vacation in a place unlike your own. I will definitely come back to stay (but without a car (see note below).

New ZealandThe food was VERY slow at breakfast - and the included breakfast is just a bowl of bread. They can’t make a cup of tea at all well.

United StatesOur room was not ready when we arrived, and we waited 2+ hours to be given a different room eventually. The view from the room was onto a private residence balcony about 3 feet away, it was a terrible view. The meal at dinner on the rooftop was very pricey for only marginal food quality (not at all like the wonderful breakfast). Parking was $60 per day, quite steep, and the alcoholic drinks by the pool were also very costly, at ~$30 each. The rooms had tons of alcohol and snacks laid out for purchase, but no prices on anything so we were scared to even touch them.
The rooftop garden restaurant had excellent ambiance, and same with the pool area. The music was wonderful, watching the trees swaying was great, and the wait staff were very friendly and professional. The room had really nice interior decorating, and a nicely working air conditioning unit. The breakfast buffet was to die for, just amazing! The hallways were very nicely decorated, and ambiance at this entire hotel is just fantastic! The location in West Hollywood was excellent, near most great restaurants, bars and clubs, but not next to them.

United StatesThe kitschen fan went on one floor above my room and did not stop until I called the Hôtel at 12:30 in the morning to tell them I was unable to sleep and had a very early morning wake up call at 5:00am! They sent someone up to turné of that very annoying fan! The room cost me $733 and I was only able to sleep for three hours! Very disappointing although I loved the concept of the hotel and would like to go back again! Joan Estes

AustraliaBed was on the small size. Pillows extremely soft.
Great location, friendly staff. Close to Weho, public transport to both downtown LA or Santa Monica, plenty of restaurants close bye. Beautiful rooftop pool and bar, with sweeping views of the surrounding area. Property in our opinion would be more suitable to adults rather than family groups. Shower has the best water pressure.

AustraliaIts kind of hard to reserve space at the pool even as a guest as the property all has a membership. I’d recommend booking ahead. I think in the scheme of things it’s pretty pricey and there’s not really any inclusions like breakfast

United KingdomUnfortunately due to the party being set up on the roof, we couldn't really make use of the pool area in the day as they were getting things ready so it wasn't particularly relaxing as there were workmen around setting up. This was a real shame as sitting up on the roof had been one of the big draws to the hotel for us so a shame we didn't really get to enjoy that.
The room was very well appointed with a large bed and lounge area to sit in. There were lots of options at the mini bar from cocktails, snacks and even a bikini in case you had forgotten to pack one! The bed was very comfortable and we had a little balcony we could stand on and watch the world pass by. There was a party on the rooftop in the evening which was fun. Check out at 12 noon was great.
