The front door is always locked so you either use your keycard or need to ring the doorbell. The doorbell is not very obvious to see as it was painted black so a lot of people miss it.

The beds were very comfortable and it had a privacy curtain. Each person in the dorm had 2 hooks to use. All of the shared bathrooms are separate and self contained with a shower, toilet and sink so its very private. The breakfast was nice with bread, bagels, cereal, yogurt, hard boiled eggs and juice/coffee/tea. The location is right on Canal St and it's easy to walk into the French Quarter or hop on a streetcar/bus.

1) I wish the top bunk had a “roof” or something so the light in the general room didn’t wake me up. 2) I wish the bunk curtains were a little taller for the same reason 3) if the key could be any other color to make it easier to see among the sheets/towels etc. would make life much easier in the dark.

Unfortunately the ice machine was broken. Bathrooms could be a little cleaner and stocked (soap dispensers were constantly out) but it was fine otherwise!

LOVED the location, super close to the theater I was visiting for a concert. just a short walk to the heart of the city and all the sights. Breakfast was excellent as well and I loved the amount of open seating and lounging spaces it had! Front desk staff was excellent and super helpful and I loved that I could hold my luggage there after I checked out. My bed was SUPER COMFORTABLE and the key operated locker in the room was beyond convenient. I only wish I knew it was key operated before I lugged my padlock with me :p

With un upper bed I was right underneath the A/C which is both loud and also got a little chilly. Also the room was in front of the elevators so you’d hear everyone coming in and out.

Beds are very comfy and the curtain provides some privacy. Breakfast is included however quite basic. Location is great as you are quite close to the action but far enough to get some sleep!

there was a large group of Tweens with chaperones when I was there, but .. that's just me. not crazy about that.

free breakfast, includes fresh fruit, yoghurt, granola, different kinds of bagels, toasted, butter, cream cheese, jelly for toast, coffee, fancy teas.. full kitchen facility if you wish to cook use of fridge and freezer. This is probably the best hostel I have EVER stayed in. also a tv room so you can watch tv if you want. no smoke no drugs is A-Ok. Very Very safe.

I have stayed in various HI Hostels in the US and this is my absolute favorite by far! The property is very modern and resembles a hotel. The staff was super friendly and they have many recommendations for solo travelers! It was also within a walking distance from Burbon St (5min). I stayed in one of the dorm rooms and I really liked the fact that there were curtains in the beds for additional privacy! I would 100% recommend you to stay there instead of an hotel because you get to connect with others. Also if you have an early flight and couldn’t take the shuffle bus (like me), they order you an airport taxi for a flatrate of 36$ (+tax), which is fairly cheap compared to uber/lyft.

The shower water pressure was poor and lukewarm. We were warned in advance. Very expensive for a hostel probably due to the Jazzfest being held that weekend.

Neighbourhood looks rough as the local shops are selling "vapes and edibles" "liquor and luggage" and people on the street selling bangles and budgies but there was no aggression or even interaction from anyone in the area. It's across the street from Ritz Carlton, so I don't think the area itself is going to be a problem for tourists.

Exceptionally well thought out and executed modern hostel. Management of entry, lockers, toilets and showers is very effective. The beds are comfortable and have good privacy in the dorm with their own shelf and charging points, dorm is well laid out and set up for changing without disturbing other sleepers. showers work well, left luggage room is simple to use. Great Ambience and music in the background (non-stop 80s) and decor.
