Location was great gave us a chance to walk in the Gaslamp district. Very close to all the bars and restaurants. Close enough to get us out and about and enjoy people watching but not so close that you don't have privacy and/or quiet from Fifth Avenue. Rooms were large and very comfortable.

It was an old historic building. Very clean. An easy walk to Pet o Park and many surrounding restaurants. The room was quiet, clean and comfortable. The staff was kind and professional. Rooftop area was a bonus.

A gym and/or a pool would have been nice, but the price / quality ratio is excellent. Other than that it is really a great hotel!

I expected the room cleaning would be finished by noon. But during my stay, there were at least two days that room cleaning was finished late after 3 pm. That is the only thing I think they can improve.

I like the view from my room and the rooftop patio which is relaxing. The location is excellent. It is served by a trolly station just a few minutes walk away. The common area on the top floor provides coffee, tea, and hot water, which is important for a solo traveler like me. Convenient stores, supermarkets, and a variety of restaurants are within reachable distance.

The street noise.

Our room was lovely. Bathroom was huge and clean. There was some street noise until about midnight (but this was in the Gas Lamp area and it was Spring break). The front desk and transportation staff were wonderful.

Loud music late into the night until at least 2 am. Cars with noisy mufflers racing up and down the street and lots of partying. If this is not your scene, don't stay here. Staff did their best to accommodate us and we were very grateful to Cecelia for moving us on a busy Easter weekend.

Rooms were spacious, beds were comfortable, staff were friendly and despite the noise at night it was a great location.

Shame there isn't breakfast but I was pointed to a location only a couple of minutes away which served an excellent and good value 'walk-in' breakfast.

Great staff, very helpful and knowledgeable about the city with useful tips - e.g. using the Trolley Bus system. Location excellent for nearby facilities and entertainment - but not too noisy. Rooms and beds very comfortable. Hidden gem of the rooftop area which is lightly used.

We knew heading into this hotel that we were on a busy street and from previous reviews we were aware of the noise, but I don’t think I expected the level of noise. You really do need some type of earplugs in order to sleep.

The staff were excellent! Everyone was so incredibly nice from the desk staff to the valet. It really made an impression on us, we would definitely recommend this hotel to all of our friends.

Great location! Parking was a bit of a pain. But when you find it, it’s easy. valet only. Walking distance to the house of blues and plenty other bars. And the rooftop terrace has a really pretty view.

There is some noise as the Gaslamp Quarter is a famous party/nightlife district. The noise level was not unbearable.

As we walked in the hotel we were greeted by an extremely friendly desk clerk who upgraded our room to a suite. The room was clean, comfortable and spacious as it was a suite. The bathroom had a bath tub. We only stayed one night but pleasantly enjoyed the hotel. The rooftop has an awesome view which I enjoyed in the morning with a complimentary cup of coffee.
