How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Breakfast options are limited, not refilled on a timely basis.
The bed was comfortable and the room clean. Rooms have smart TVs. The location is easy to access with restaurant and stores nearby. Fresh cookies at the desk in the afternoon.

There wasn’t anything except for the last night we noticed there was a little too much bleach in the pool.
The staff was amazing! Ran into some discrepancies with the reservation but Cheryl the manager was quick to resolve it. The front desk staff was very helpful and attentive to everyone’s needs.

The breakfast was poor, although the coffee was good. I tried the oatmeal (porridge) but it was tasteless and I could not finish it. The cooked elements of the breakfast did not attract me, I just ended with a slice of toast.
I thought the room was very comfortable and clean.

Breakfast had eggs that were already seasoned which was unusual. My children didn’t like them.
They moved our rooms around so that we could have adjoining rooms. It was so nice to have our family in “one” big room.

Our room had an adjoining room and the door wasn't particularly well insulated, so we could sometimes hear the neighbor's TV loud and clear.
The hotel was nicely appointed with a comfortable and quiet room. The bed was very comfortable with lots of pillows to choose from. Breakfast was good, with plenty of space to sit. There was a great restaurant in walking distance, which was welcome after a long day of driving.

We were ok with cleaning of rooms were every third day which is fine but they missed cleaning our room on the 3rd day. Staff apologetic and removed three days of the resort fee from our bill.
Consistency among all the Country Inn & Suites so we know what we will be getting. Staff was friendly and helpful.

First impressions are important... Our first view on entering the hotel showed dirty carpets at entrance. No offer to assist with luggage even when they saw us struggle with luggage and "cart"- other than desk staff asking if we wanted to use the laundry carts ?! Really!? But even by then, we were almost done by carrying in what wouldn't fit in the small very old cart on which luggage slipped off or would almost slide off. Also, the $50 for incidentals was not returned or even offered when we checked out - were too busy with other customers. Though they did adjustments days later. The rooms were satisfactory but if we had arrived earlier we might have cancelled and moved to another hotel due to first impressions and lack of help. We were on a long road trip and were just too tired to get into it all. Overall it was a good stay - for the three rooms we booked for three days, though we were gone during the days for Mt Rushmore and other sites which made it all worth it.
Breakfast was ok - We just needed a little something to start our day. It was sufficient and the staff was friendly and quick to refill and keep a clean area.
