The lack of a pool and parking was a little. disappointing..

The elegance of the hotel was exceptional. the food was delicious that we got from the restaurant.

Room 204 had a very smoky (cigarette) smell. Trash and refrigerator was not emptied from previous occupant. Room 206, shower nozzle was very loose and unable to tighten, subsequently, water pressure was poor. Took some time to rinse hair.

Staff extremely friendly, professional, and helpful. Location was great, easy walk or short Uber to most areas. Bed was comfortable.

This was our 2nd stay here, the vibe is very old hollywood classy, and it is a charming place. The bar is super dark and romantic and brunch at Gracie's feels special.

It didn't have the holiday ambience that we have had there in the past, so it would be great to bring back the big tree and have lively happy hours in the main lobby area.

Rooms are spacious and comfortable and we live in Portland and used this as a holiday Staycation. It was fun being downtown - it just felt a little quieter than normal at the hotel but we were happy to be there. Thanks!

I really did not like that there was no transparency about the $50 hold on my card before booking or even after. I have only seen that done in the most sketchy locations. It also gives the impression that they assume you are going to trash the room. Instead of getting to the room and relaxing, we felt pressure to check the room for damage and document it so that we wouldnt get blamed and charged later. We were also given inaccurate information about parking. We were told that the street parking was only free from 7pm to 7am. This isn't accurate and felt like it could have been an attempt to get us to pay for the very expensive hotel parking. There was also no temperature adjustment in the shower.

The hotel and room was beautiful. The bed was perfect and there was very little steet noise.

Nothing - it is an old hotel and the rooms are on the small side, but the bed was super-comfortable.

bed was smaller than expected and the pull out bed wasnt comfy. Staff fixed it as it was broken on one side as requested but my friend took the mattress and put it in the floor as it was more comfortable that way

How small the rooms are.

The staff was helpful and friendly. The hotel is 100 years old, but it is maintained well. The rooms are very small. I upgraded to a premium room which was fine for one person.

the parking garage needs a sign by the exit to inform guests that the room key slot is located a few feet away. Having a no key card sign alone was confusing. Ended up double paying for 2 nights of parking. Also there was no information in the room about the restaurant or other amenities.

The use of the disabled persons elevator was not convenient as is was not self-operational and someone had to constantly run up or down to the front desk and as for assistance for our elderly mother traveling with a walker.

Love the boutique and old Hollywood vibe of the hotel! Room was lovely, spacious, and the beds were soooo comfortable! Our room had a walk-in shower which was perfect for my elderly mother who was traveling with us.

Staff was wonderful with the exception of the Driftwood staff- who were bored and grumbly, especially the server (who I overheard describe himself as “lowly backbar guy). Did absolute minimum. Also the dozen oysters we ordered (no info about where they were from or what kind) contained half inedible huge ones which were hard to choke down- we left 4 of them. The only time these two guys perked up was when a single woman sat at the bar and was mildly friendly to them, and then the guys sat down next to her and in front of her fawning. Gross and would have preferred if they spent their time giving us water and asking how our expensive cocktails and $150 meal was. Not the Driftwood of old sadly.

Checkin was great and bellhops very helpful and friendly. Parking garage needs an attendant or else it’s no better than parking on the dangerous streets.
