Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaNothing.
Picked up at Thai Immigration by owner. Unexpectedly , restaurant standard meal prepared by owners on our arrival for a very reasonable cost. Our hosts could do nothing more to make our overnight stay a pleasure. Transportation of our group of four with large luggage items to bus depot was done again as part of our stay after a lovely cooked breakfast. The rooms as the photos depict, are small but very clean and comfortable.

ThailandNothing negative to report about this place. The GPS didnt show the shortest route to get there but once there, they owners showed me a short cut.
The good reviews this place has received were absolutely correct. Very nice and helpful people and though the bungalow room was probably the smallest I have ever stayed in, it was lovely and perfect for my needs. I always bring a memory foam matrass in my car when I travel around in Thailand because of my bad back, but this time I could leave it in the car because the bed was comfortable as it was.

Greece-
A great place to stay if you decide to cross the border on your own and not being picked up from Chiang mai or Chiang rai. The owner picks you up from the bus stop and then drops you off at the border the next day and can arrange for you a ticket and Lao border assistance and transfer from the border to the pier for 1200 baht (I like my comfort so opted for that!). The room is nice and has all you need. They also run a lovely restaurant where his absolutely lovely wife cooks delicious meals. Tip: take a bike and ride along the area and stop at the Mekong beach, which is very close, for a drink with the locals by the Mekong and a lovely local atmosphere

United KingdomNo complaints!
As every other review says, this place is perfect! The owner was waiting for me at the border from Laos, and gave me a free ride to the hotel. He was super friendly and cheery, as was everyone else once we arrived! The rooms/buildings were cute and very well furnished. There is a restaurant next door that serves great food, and breakfast was lovely too. Then the owner again gave a free ride to the bus station and pointed me in the right direction!

United KingdomNothing, everything was perfect ☺️
It was a lovely little place, the owners couldn’t be more friendly and helpful. We loved being able to use the bikes to go for a sunset bike ride and then into the local village. The free breakfast was just what we needed before catching the slow boat to Laos. The owner also arranged for us to get the slow boat ticket from his friend at the pier and it made the whole process very straight forward and also helped with any questions we had about the visa form (which he gave us on arrival).

United KingdomNothing ! Just to note though you don’t need to buy a slow boat package, I crossed the border Feb 2024 and paid $25 USD at the pier in Huay Xai for a two day trip to Luang Prabang
It’s on a beautiful and quiet farm - right by the border with Laos. The owners are amazing, we got free breakfast and they picked us up from the local Tesco lotus where the bus dropped us off, then drive us to the border the next morning. We got free breakfast and the bed was so comfy - best night sleep I’ve had in a while

Delightful, thoughtful host & hostess who together with their friendly family, offer this wonderful, affordable stay with the most helpful and kind pick up and drop off service and tasty meals in the family restaurant around the corner! clean and comfortable bungalow with a good shower, a fan and a quiet AC... situated in a peaceful surrounding of farm fields and rubber trees forest; free bicycles to ride; free breakfast on the lovely, airy wooden lounge. As a vegetarian, I enjoyed the tasty Thai meals there made of the fresh vegetables from their kitchen garden and local farmer markets. I had such a pleasant time there that I ended up extended my stay for 3 more nights :)
