The breakfast buffet was fantastic. The staff were so helpful everywhere and as I am disabled provided a buggy to take me to the restaurants or the beach. I would thoroughly recommend this hotel

My only small gripe would be the smell from the air con in our room - damp and musty.

Gorgeous hotel with a real chilled vibe. Our room was specious with a side view of the ocean. The bath on the balcony was a fabulous addition. The staff all around the resort were super friendly and very welcoming. We really loved our days at La Vela and wished we had booked for longer!

Can't say that I didn't like it, but the Kokulo area and pool could be better maintained from the technical point of view.

It was a great.

It’s stylish, modern and very clean. The breakfast was great with plenty of variety. The pools and surrounding areas were very nice. The beach was great with natural shade from the tress and umbrella. The rooms very spacious, the bed was reasonably comfortable, but we found the pillows uncomfortable; the filling was lumpy. We liked the shower and Jacuzzi bath on the balcony. There'a a large fridge/freezer in the room, which was great for storing drinks etc. The location is great – close to plenty of restaurants and bars. We requested adjacent rooms to our boys and the hotel accommodated this request. The gym was reasonable for a holiday workout. We stayed in 4 hotels during our 3-week holiday and La Vela is our family's favourite.

Would have appreciated tea and coffee to be replenished when room was made up - but this is a very minor point!

The strange water flooded style that you had to work your route out in able to walk around.

Lovely hotel. Took us many days to figure our way around it though! Everytime you came to a junction you had to debate how to get around as the whole place seems to be surrounded by water. So you want to get to your room and unless you go through the one underpass otherwise you end up swimming to every location with your bag held over your head. Even to get to a pool you would be wading around trying to find an entry point. Also there are no beds that aren't in water. So that always made me nervous when you have your bag next to you and reading a book or kindle that could easily drop in the water. We got use to it after a week but found it a strange concept. The rooms where amazing and big with full sized fridge and the staff were fab. Lots of good restaurants near. We enjoyed our stay very much.

sadly we had a large pool view room with tub on balcony ... yes fab however because we didn't get any sun on balcony at all the room had a smell ,,, and all the clean bedding felt damp . we needed fresh air so did keep doors open

The food at the main restaurant was very bad. We had lunch there every day and each time the food we got was very low quality. Too bad, because the seafood bbq was so terrific, so why not keep the same quality every day? Another thing that really bothered us was the lack of music everywhere. Dead silent. Gives a strange vibe

Great combination of kid friendly but also adult friendly. Anyone can find their place. Lots of shade and space at the beach, close to all the restaurants and market. The seafood buffet was amazing.

The biggest issue is the smell of damp or mold in the walls. We’ve been one night in a building with a very strong smell and it was impossible to sleep in, even though we tried to ventilate it to the maximum. Next day we asked a different room, we changed the building which was much better for our stay.

We liked the room with all the amenities and the great balcony viewing the sea and the luxuriant palm trees. We enjoyed the facilities, the kids club, the enormous swimming pools and different activities. The breakfast is fantastic, with many many options both occidental and asiatic. We enjoyed also the spectacular fire show at Kokulo Beach Bar in the evening. It is a must seen. Considering all the above, the hotel is 5’ walk from the streets with the restaurants and shops. Super friendly and helpful staff also.
