Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

NetherlandsThe air conditioning was a little loud, it would be wise to bring earplugs (also because of the jungle sounds).
It was a great experience to sleep in a tree house! The hotel offered very nice activities and the staff is very helpful with advising which tours to choose and explaining what every tour will be like. We've enjoyed the pool too!

United KingdomThought we were getting the hut that we saw in pictures but got a different one instead, we booked pretty late so can't complain. The electricity sometimes pauses but we are surrounded by nature and in a jungle so it's understandable.
The setting was perfect, surrounded by nature and very zen. Loved the natural vibe to everything, including the breakfast. The swimming pool was nice and the staff were lovely and accommodating. The bed was big and has a mosquito net. There was even a foosball machine which was fun. It was easy to organise tour excursions and the staff are easy to talk to. The lake excursion was a bit more pricey than others but still an amazing experience that I highly recommend.

New ZealandI was surprised at how terrible the restaurant is. Poor food and overpriced. This is especially surprising because everything else was so excellent, and it’s almost impossible to get a bad meal in Thailand. However this doesn’t matter because there’s lots of other delicious food options just outside the resort.
The staff was perfectly lovely and kind. Beautiful location, and I was happily surprised they had a pool! They were happy to organise activities and transport, and they did a flawless job. Also the bartender makes delicious cocktails!

AustriaThe bed was not very comfortable. We booked a bungalow with an outdoor bathroom, since it sounds like a nice experience. However, we did not think about all the animals, that come by at night. We had huge spiders, lizards, various bugs and even a bat “in” our bathroom. The bat even pooped on our towels. This is not a reason why you should not book this resort, because you can also choose rooms with a closed bathroom. Nevertheless, if you feel adventurous and are not scared of big bugs etc. it is definitely worth choosing the outdoor bathroom. We for sure had a laugh!
The bungalows of the Khao Sok Paradise Resort were located in the jungle, surrounded by monkeys and other animals. The staff were very helpful and super friendly. The resort offers a lot of tours and adventures, which the staff organises quick and easy for you. Also the tour guides they hired for all of our activities were extremely competent and nice. As we wanted to check out, there was an electricity outage, following their staff helping us with finding a taxi and with the payment (because we could not get cash at the atm with the outage).

GermanyBathroom is just OK, but yeah, you are in the jungle!
The resort is gorgeous, in the middle of the jungle. I stayed in the treehouse and it was so lovely! The room was clean, a bit small but we loved the table and chairs outside, it was like an observation deck for the nature and it was so nice to have a coffee there in the morning or a drink in the evening! Also not many mosquitoes. The staff is amazing, they helped us arranging all possible excursions and transfers, and thanks to them everything worked out great! Absolutely do the overnight trip at the lake (but remember not to book that night in the resort), and if you have time ask if you can stay 2 nights at the lake, I would have loved that!!!

United KingdomWe had some great tours (tubing, elephants) but they also sent us on a disastrous Khao Sok tour which apart from being very expensive, was terrible. We told them it was terrible on our return then heard them selling it to the next mugs to visit. If you’re looking to visit Khao Sok this isn’t a great place to stay. It’s an hour away from the entrance, where you get the boats to the floating sheds. The food isn’t great and seems excessively expensive. There’re no relaxing spaces, it’s either room or restaurant. Not to be too much of a pedant but it’s also not in the “jungle” it’s surrounded by a palm oil plantation so whilst they may warn about wildlife we didn’t see anything more wild than a large butterfly.
It’s a tree-house so the kids (and adults) loved it. The rooms are clean and tidy. There’re some great places to get food close by. We managed to get an adjoining treehouse so the kids could stay near us. This was excellent. There are some great activities near by.

GermanyIf you have a light sleep Be aware of wildlife on your roof at night. But nothing some ear plugs cannot solve :)
General Clean & comfy houses in the jungle offering a true experience. superior tree houses rate include some neat breakfast. Air Con worked good, room service and very very friendly staff, trying to make anything possible. We booked a cooking class, hiking guide and transfer with the hotel and all was fine! 👍🏼

AustraliaWe didn’t try any drinks or food at the restaurant due to higher prices than the many surrounding restaurants and bars.
It was exactly as advertised, unique jungle setting. Perfect if that is what you are after. Helpful staff that offered us a different room due to a small issue with the original room.

United KingdomWhen we came back to our room in the evening it looked like the decking was covered in monkey faeces (this can’t be helped) however in the morning halfway through our shower the water turned brown. Our hair and skin was covered in dirt and we had to check out in time for a bus so spent the rest of the day dirtier than it started.
It was a good location, we were really happy after being shown to our room. Lovely room, really nice outside shower. Welcome juice was really appreciated after our stays in backpacker hostels and the breakfast was good too.
