How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

I would say the location is a bit out of the way but we were only there for a night anyway

Curtains. Plugs at each bed. Large room. Large bathroom. Common area. Near restaurants and shops. Good communication and helped us book the Khao Sok National park tour and transfer out of Khao Sok.

Great stay! Lovely spacious rooms however the shared bathroom you sometimes had to wait as they only had 2 showers however really helpful with booking onward travel and the floating bungalows

Not much, it was a really great hostel
We booked our overnight stay in khao sok national park through the hostel. They also organised a transfer for us to Koh samui the next day The shared bathroom was pretty clean and the rooms were nice and bright

The shower was not working very well and the entrance/exit to my bunk bed was not easy. I think it was placed incorrectly because there were some bars obstructing the way.

The bunk beds were poor quality and there ants in the room but I guess that’s not surprising given it’s located in a National Park!
Chillax helped us to arrange the Nam Talu cave tour in Khao Sok so we stayed at Chillax the night before. They had great aircon, free water refills and coffee/tea! We noted that even though we had booked a dorm, as it wasn’t busy we got a dorm room to ourselves which was kind. They also arranged out onwards which was good!

Amazing hostel, went the extra mile of fixing my bag for free and refused my money, so kind! Tour was amazing, sorted travel elsewhere for cheaper than online, a real genuine business not looking to rip off travellers! 10/10

Lovely hostel to stay at before a trip to Koh sok national park which the staff will help you organise. Rooms reasonably sized, bathroom clean and perfect for what we needed! Pool table in reception and can buy beers/drinks from their fridge. Excellent stay

Balcony backs straight onto people sleeping in tents right next to it.
Stayed for the overnight tour. Highly recommend doing this with the hostel. The hostel is good spot, not far from many things to do. Clean and tidy.

Our air con was broken however the staff were very quick to help and after they couldn’t fix it they moved us room, they were booked up so put us in a room next door which was even nicer! So helpful and apologetic can’t fault them
Amazing staff, very spacious rooms, nice views and a good location. Lots of tour options at a reasonable price available

Nothing negative to say, it’s basic but that’s what we needed.
Really clean, quiet and relaxed hostel to stay in before Khao Sok National Park tour. They arrange everything for you including tour and transfer back to next destination which was very handy!

I booked a room with a Mountain View which is what I got. However I wasn’t expecting there also to be a guy hitting a bong and sleeping in a tent in the communal balcony right outside my private one. I had more of a view of that than the mountain. My room also did not have a fridge.
I booked to join my friends on their travels, however I’m not a fan of the idea of shared dorms. This place gave me the ability to stay in the same place as my friends who were happy to stay in dorms and offer others a private room. The room itself was very nice and spacious. The staff were very lovely.

They need more receptionists. Every time we went to talk to someone, we had to wait 20-30mins. Also, we stayed for 2 nights, the first night was really good. The second we got unlucky with our room under the lobby which wasn't quiet.
Very nice hostel. The rooms have aircon which was a big plus for us due to only having a fan for the past 3 weeks. Nice and clean toilets. Friendly staff.

Only a small thing that I guess is expected with hostels but sometimes the toilets weren’t that clean.
Perfect location for the night before the Khao sok trip and great that everything can be arranged from there. It’s a small village but still has plenty of restaurants to choose from and a couple of mini marts!

Lovely hostel. We booked our overnight tour through them and it was great! The staff are so lovely and helpful, they really went above and beyond to help us out during our stay. A great breakfast on offer too! Clean and comfortable facilities. Code entry forms so very safe also.

Spacious 4 bedroom dorms with curtains, plenty of bathrooms, cold water refill, quick walk to main town. I went on 2d 1n floating bungalow tour to coral cave and we had a great guide and I thought the tour was as well organized as could be expected. I would recommend the tour to others but I’m sure there are plenty of others that are just as good

Overall great. Just be aware this is mostly for before and after tours not for staying longer term.
Great for booking Khao Sok national park tours. Arrived the night before and booked for the next day. Lovely staff and very helpful. Able to store big bags at reception when in tour.
