How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

The path to property is through a street from main road. They should have put a sign on main road about it.

No elevators and the location is along a narrow dead-end street, making it quite challenging for picking up and dropping off during peak hours.

The hotel is quite dark as it doesn't get a lot of natural light. There was no window in my room, just a little balcony that didn't have any view other than the tin roof of another building. The fridge was a little bit noisy which can affect your sleep if you're a light sleeper.
spacious and clean room. AC was working very well and bed very comfortable. Bathroom was ok. Hotel is located in a side street with no traffic so fairly quiet.

Would be better if url can add a hook inside the toilet as there is no changing room. Better lights for the mirror area would be helpful for sure. Its hard to find the spot at nights as the name board is not visible in dark, google maps location will be needed.
Everything was great! The bunk bedrooms are super clean and comfy. A complimentary coffee table in the lobby was very helpful. Loved the whole collection of props displayed in the lobby. Being a huge Game of Thrones fan, the theme of the hostel was very exciting to see. Very helpful staff and was even okay for a super late night checkin.

The location was a little out of the way but the owners have made a real effort to make a unique hotel. Staff went over and beyond with every little request and were very friendly. I Would be happy to stay there again.

The hotel is conveniently located near the BTS, with many coffee shops around. We arrived earlier than the check-in time, but they were accommodating and allowed us to check in early. The room was clean and comfortable, and the owner was friendly, even offering to take us to Phaya Thai station for our flight.

Higher floors must be accessed via stairs, this can be difficult with large bags or old/disabled people.

It’s the second time I return to castle black, by now I feel it’s my family away from home. The best part about this place is the staff, they are among the best people I ever met. The location is exceptional for exploring pretty much anything in Bangkok without missing out on the local vibe. The rooms are cosy and if you request it there’s daily housekeeping with change of towels. There’s everything you need for a comfortable stay.

Depending on the room type you can see that it had the best years, bathroom smelled a bit moldy. But all in all we had a good stay!
Location close to Victory Monument BTS, close to some Malls, historical part of Bangkok and temples within 30 minutes by grab, nice bar with live music in walking distance and also two places that offer western breakfast. They offer complementary breakfast/snacks all day (toast, biscuits, butter, jam, coffee, water), rooms are clean, hosts are really nice and you can store your luggage after check out.

The cleanliness may need to slight improve as can feel the floor a bit dusty.
The staff is very friendly. The hotel design and decorations is more towards animation, the animated lover sure will love it! Besides that, the location is convenient to go to anywhere. The hotel is also very quiet, can get a good rest over there.

suit for family stay, the room is very clean, provide mini refrigerator, hair dryer, shampoo and body wash, and wifi. Each beds also have their own universal socket, which means we don't need to buy travel adaptor. They also provide breakfast and snacks. Additionally they have laundry service, billiards, and suitcase scales

Value for money, clean and 15minutes walk to platinum, centreworld and paragon mall. BTS metro is 10minutes walk away. A good number of cafes and 24hr convienient stalls nearby.
