How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

If I had had a bottom bunk.
Excellent location, so clean and comfortable my only negative, and it really is minor, is that it was a very high climb to top bunk but once up there, so comfortable, quiet, clean and everything I needed to hand. I liked the layout of the dormitory, made it feel more private. Slept so well. Easy arrangement for the fishing boat over to Spain. Lived it here

Noise carries a bit between floors. Recommend ear plugs if you are a light sleeper
Close to the boat transfer. Had a private twin room with a private bath. Location to a few restaurants and grocery is great.

The breakfast room was a bit small for the number of guests who all wanted to eat early 7:15am in order to catch the water taxis or start walking by 8. At 7:40 the room was practically empty and no problem to find a seat!
Very comfortable private room with terrace and big bathroom. Room was warm and bright. Excellent hot shower. Room had armoire to hang clothes. Breakfast offered a variety of foods which were very tasty. Checkin was easy and the man was very genial! Arranged boat transfer for us to Spain to continue the Camino. It was great!

Can't think of anything. Good value for money.
Check-in was smooth. Bed with curtain is great for privacy and also had a personal light and outlet to charge your phone. They offered a transfer service to the port for pilgrims who are taking the ferry to Spain. It's not far but this is a l nice gesture! There are also soaking tubs for sore feet which ia pretty unique.

Excellent, friendly staff. Great breakfast with homemade yogurt. Location near train station and main street with lots of restaurants, bakeries, and shops. Nice expansive view of a park like area . Our 4 bed room had a huge private bathroom with a bathtub. The lobby area had an inviting foot sink with salt or sugar scrub. We took the canoe/boat trip to Valenca/Tui from Caminha and would recommend it!

The room was very basic and a little depressing. This was the most expensive room on our trip and definitely not a favourite.
It’s in a good location and the kitchen was excellent for preparing and cooking food. The staff are friendly and helpful. Close to the centre of town.

the receptionist was really nice, funny and willing to help! even though it was a 20-people dorm, it was kinda private because of those flexible walls. Bed was comfortable! Would recommend

Our bathroom was separate to our room (but exclusive to us) which was fine for us but if you expected en suite you may be disappointed

loudly snoring lady next to me small bathroom, really busy in the morning (maybe because of female predominance in the room)

Very well set up for anyone doing the camino. Laundry services, foot baths, massages and taxi to boat next morning all arranged. Excellent breakfast including gluten free options.

The bed mattress was very uncomfortable! It worsened my already back pain.

There was a window from the bathroom into the room so every time you turned on the light in the bathroom, it shined into the room

Great welcome from Pedro. Just perfect place to stay after a long walk. Location,ambience & cleanliness & comfort make this a 10! Loved the salt foot bath concept in communal area. Breakfast offered lots of choices. However, the lady working in the kitchen on the day told us that breakfast was over at 9.00hr but that was not the case.so we rushed ours when other customers were eating @10.00. Just a tiny niggle over that.
