The room is not very spacious and had limited places to hang or organize our stuff. Also, need to be careful exiting the place, since there's no sidewalk and narrow street right putting a foot out. Other than that, excellent value for the price.

Location was great for us. A 5 mins drive to the parking and then 5 mins walk to the bridge to access the University and river park. Great breakfast and clean room. Very friendly staff and nicely decorated and cozy place.

There is nothing I can think of that could be improved, it was in every way an outstanding experience.

What an amazing experience! The space itself is beautiful and clearly kept up with pride and love, it was spotless. The grounds and outside space were gorgeous and very inviting. Beautiful rooms. There were so many thoughtful details, in the rooms they left a small bottle of homemade brandy from grapes from the property and there was fresh made cake in the kitchen when we arrived. The staff and owner were extremely hospitable and friendly and had excellent recommendations for local restaurants and activities. And the breakfast was excellent! Overall this was one of the best hotel experiences I have ever had. Highly recommend!

I do not dislike anything in particular. Maybe it is not so accessible to the center, but this is just a minor thing.

FAN-TAS-TIC! It’s awesome! The building, the garden, the pool, it’s all beautiful with pretty details. It’s a hidden gem, 5 minutes from the centre of Coimbra. The staff, the breakfast, etc, etc… If you’re looking for the best place to stay for your visit to Coimbra, just book this place!

I really loved staying here - especially the garden…! Everything was amazing -my room was so nice :) the bed was really comfortable and great shower and I just felt so peaceful and able to properly rest, the time blurred together so after only two days I feel I had a proper holiday, and it was such a nice place to relax after visiting Coimbra thank you for the incredibly warm welcome and for making me feel at home it was such a nice atmosphere enjoyed it so much!

Oryza is a unique property with a lot of character. It was clean and comfortable and Luis is an extremely helpful host. The breakfasts are wonderful with bread, home made jams, pastries, eggs, fruit, yoghurt, etc., enough to get us going for the day. Guests have access to a lounge, a room where they can bring in their own food and a wonderful outdoor space.

Large quiet comfortable room with good sized bathroom. Parking outside, and good advice on where to park for free close to town. Breakfast very generous with plenty of options. If this place is available book it!! An amazing beautifully restored guesthouse 5 minutes drive from Coimbra. Edgar and Louis were fabulous, more than helpful with recommendations of what to do in Coimbra.We spent one day just at the pool and walking the beautiful grounds. Breakfast is served straight from the community farm - so fresh and tasty. The room was big and bright, the bed was so comfy. The nicest place I have stayed with amazing staff.I will certainly return!

Everything was great.

Great venue that was renovated to keep its historic charm but provides all the modern conveniences such as AC, rain shower, TV. Breakfast area and food is phenomenal, atmosphere not comparable to any other place I’ve stayed before. We only stayed one night so didn’t have sufficient time to walk the farm and as we stayed beginning of April, we did not use the pool. We will definitely come back - Oryza is on my list to make a detour when we’ll be next in PT.

The staff (Luis and Edgar) are incredibly friendly and helpful. They gave us information about things to do in Coimbra and made great recommendations! The property is a historic building that is well maintained and beautiful. There is an organic garden on the back of the property and we love all the fresh produce from there. Would definitely recommend for anyone visiting Coimbra.

The breakfast was delicious, fresh, plentiful and had a wide variety of offerings. The location was ideal - a short distance from the centre of Coimbra yet in the country with a beautiful courtyard and orange grove and garden plots, chickens and a bamboo forest if you take a walk down the back of the property. Luis, the owner, was informative, gracious, accommodating and helpful. Five stars! Ten stars!

I found this place by chance, looking for a room while a family member was at the nearby hospital, the Centro Cirurgico Coimbra. It was minutes away, which was convenient. I was amazed by the entire place. The rooms are spacious, clean, comfortable, with a lovely bathroom. Breakfast was excellent, in a lovely setting with a view to the garden. This used to be a family mansion - a Quinta - renovated to keep both the original character and authenticity while offering modern accommodations. It felt like home. The staff and the owner are delightful, friendly people who make you feel welcome. The Oryza house is a true gem, hidden in a village only a few km from Coimbra center. It was perfect!
