This truly is a magical place and the way a hostel should be. They managed to create a very homely and cosy environment with multiple places to hang out. You can easily see that this place is created with love and has a soul and an own identity (in contrary to all those generic soulless hostels). With setting an environment like this they attract a crowd from many different backgrounds and a wide range of ages. You immediately feel home and welcome. It is very easy as a solo traveller to meet people here and feel part of the community. Yes, they succeed in one of the primary functions of a hostel for me, creating an openminded and welcoming community. This is certainly in my top ten hostels worldwide.

The street outside was a bit noisy at night so bring earplugs!

I had such a great time at this hostel. I love how they organise communal dinners on Sundays for €12 - they create a lovely atmosphere, which made so much difference to my time in Lagos as I spent my days with lovely hostel guests. The kitchen is cute like a family home, and always very clean, and the outdoor communal areas are beautiful - especially the roof terrace. The staff are lovely and helpful. The WiFi was working and the dorms are basic but totally fine!

It was clean, everything was working and, above everything else, it had a great vibe. The stuff created a great atmosphere.

I stayed in the 4-person mixed dorm where the beds were very creaky. Whilst the hostel is definitely geared towards leisure travelers, I do not recommend it for digital nomads seeing as there are few calm spaces to work and the wifi was a bit patchy at times. There could be more bathrooms for the number of people in each room. However, these points were minor and I will definitely be back!

The place was very cozy and welcoming. The staff made every effort to create a fun space for people to socialize and relax in, organizing dinners, bonfires, games, etc. The outdoor areas (garden and rooftop) were definitely a great addition to the property. The house was decorated with a lot of taste, and the kitchen was well equipped. The hostel is in the heart of the old town and ideally located a stone throw's away from lots of cafés, restaurants, beaches, shops, etc.

The location, the reception was in the back accessed by a long dark corridor. Climbing up the stairs every time was not convenient.

The room was quite spacious. close to the common washroom. The kitchen was efficient, with an attached balcony. The small courtyard in the main floor was nice for small get togethers. The staff maintained cleanliness to a great extent. very friendly, the interior was well decorated with pieces of artwork.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at this beautiful hostel. It exceeded all my expectations. The hosts were incredibly kind and welcoming. The hostel itself has lots of space but also impeccably clean and well-maintained. I highly recommend this hostel!

Absolutely loved our stay here. Really close to everywhere in town. There were lots of places to hang out and chat to people and the kitchen facilities were very good. Super nice vibes and overall we would love to be back already!

Hostel decor was charming, staff were super friendly, bed was comfortable and the 2 kitchens were well equipped. One of the nicest hostels that I’ve stayed in.

BEST HOSTEL EXPERIENCE EVER!!! Great social scene, met lots of awesome folks, still in touch. Great vibe, nice people. Fantastic staff. Great location, within 5 minutes walk of everything. Felt like living in a home. Will be back again.

First of all, I felt safe and loved at Olive Hostel. The hostel is beautifully decorated, everywhere I looked I saw that the hostel is run with a passion. With love for people, I felt taken care of from the very beginning. Olive is very clean, the lady who cleans there (I noticed ) is welcomed by the owner with love and gratitude for her work, she smiles at you when she cleans. The space is so nicely arranged that you actually don't feel like leaving, the guests integrate with each other, the feeling that it is a hostel disappears, after a few days' stay I felt like I was in a commune or a part of a family not in a hostel. This place is full of love and joy. If a place can be said to be enlightened, this is it. It has a spirit.
