Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesThis has nothing to do with the hotel or their staff, but realize you are in the heart of Lisbon. The Chiado neighborhood is vibrant and lively and active until later in the night. You will hear noise and partiers from local bars all around the area. Music, singing, people out quite later especially the weekends. It didn’t bother me though at all. I bring earplugs and close the windows. I slept very well and kind of enjoyed the vibe there it’s a wonderful place, easy access to lots of restaurants, bars, etc.
I was really impressed with this hotel. The staff was so kind and welcoming. Bruno was really amazing, many recommendations of where to go, how to get there, super helpful and kind. I felt like we were friends and got to know him while I was there for 4 nights. I needed to get out of a terrible Airbnb situation and booked this hotel because I needed comfort and a place I could rest and still be in central Lisbon (I did not have a car) they were wonderful. The room was lovely, peaceful and quiet. The breakfast buffet each morning was extremely nice and everything you could ever want. Impeccable service. Don’t miss the hotel restaurant for a first class dining experience. They have a great Chef, waiters who know regional wines of Lisbon and Portugal. 5 stars.

United Arab EmiratesThe noise at night from the bar on the street is unbearable. Not enough closet space and no drawers at all
The interior and exterior of the hotel is beautiful. Central location

United KingdomA bedside lamp didn't work. The rug slid around the floor. The power outlet cut off when the keycard was removed, causing problems with device charging.
Location was convenient with easy access to city centre and was right next to the Time Out Market area. The room was nice despite glitches here and there. The staff was hospitable. The breakfast was very good, in an impeccably prepared room.

United StatesIt is hard to find any faults as it was perfect for our stay in Lisbon.
Some of the best staff I have met, they helped with finding amazing places to visit as well as arranging the train booking to Porto. It felt like we were part of their family. The location is great for walking and has by far one of the best coffee shops right across the street. It is hilly but that is Lisbon so be prepared.

United KingdomOne very minor observation - it would have been useful to have a chest of drawers in the room as not really enough shelf space in the wardrobe
Good hotel with very friendly and helpful staff. Perfect location for getting around with lots of good quality restaurants nearby. Well equipped rooms nice and clean and well maintained. We loved the breakfast in the hotel which was beautifully presented and served at the table - so no need to get up and down to a breakfast buffet!

IrelandNo complaints, everything was perfect. Really enjoyed our stay.
Staff are so helpful and friendly, they couldn't have done more for us. Gorgeous hotel, super clean, fantastic location. Lovely fresh breakfast every morning and the Japanese- Peruvian restaurant at the hotel had beautiful food and drinks. We were there in January, and they let us have a late check out free of charge, very kind and generous of them. Best boutique hotel we ever stayed at. We will definitely be back again.

United StatesThere was nothing lacking! We were only there for one night, but were perfectly happy.
The breakfast menu was fabulous. The bed was super comfy! The blue painted walls were beautiful! But, the piece de resistance was the in-house restaurant, Ponja, which presented a Peruvian Japanese fusion . The food that we ate there could have been in a Michelin rated restaurant!

GreeceBreakfast choices were not at the level of a 5-star hotel. Very good quality but ou had to order eggs and bacon and nothing more than that. Reception is small (not at 5-star level) but this is due to the building.
Excellent location. Close to the action, tram, metro, and bus. Very friendly AND professional staff! Room was very clean, bathroom excellent, and bed comfortable. Good value for money.

United StatesStaff were friendly and helpful, but desk person who checked me out assumed I wanted to pay the upcharge for monetary conversion and did not ask if I wanted to decline it. That cost me a totally unnecessary $40.
Breakfast selection and service were exceptional, although the selection was scaled back on the last day for an unexplained reason. Personalized offering was still very good. Housekeeping was also exceptional--twice daily.
